USP / FedEx/ DHL / USPS / Etc Package Tracking?

Is there an application that you can store tracking numbers in it and it will automatically update you with some sort of notification or just display on the screen where your package is?

I've searched for quite some time and I'm surprised something like this hasn't come out yet.

I have a UPS shippers account and I can track my shipments via phone. But it has to be authorized to do so. Not sure if you can track a shipment to you from someone elses account (only speaking of UPS as that is what I use most).
