Google Maps Voice Directions Idea
I think I know how to get turn by turn directions with google maps, but I have no idea if it's possible at all. If there were some way to have google maps proceed to the next waypoint whenever your GPS location touches it, then the next directions will appear in text form on your screen. Also, if there were some application (possibly for blind people) that reads anything written on the screen, then each time you cross a google maps waypoint, the text directions pop up, and the reading application would read the directions to you.
I don't know if this is the right place for this post, but it seems like a half decent idea that somebody who might know what they're doing could accomplish. |

There is a 3rd party app calls Google Navigation that uses Google map and applies gsp turn by turn with voice assistance. You can check it out.

I recently purchased the Google navigation program and I must say compared to the other programs it works very well but it has a $59.00 price tag

What happens when you don't have Internet coverage? EVDO coverage while driving, etc...
Do you loose the navigation? Does it sit at the last spot when i had internet access? |
