How can I get Google Search Today Screen Plug in to open Opera 9.5?

I have Opera 9.5 as my default browser. And it works for everything other than the Google Search Today Screen plug in which still opens MSIE. I've searched extensively and can't find a solution for this. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

I think it's hardcoded to use PIE.
