Windows Mobile 5 Daylight Savings Time Updater by Microsoft
 

I have not seen it around here. I found this on the MS mobile site and figured this would come in handy for anyone that doesn't have this already built into their custom ROM or are still running an older OEM ROM.

Well if it is a custom ROM check with the person that put it together, if not, you need this update since it was recently released.

I did the install last night for my ppc.

After you load all of the files (the pc fix, the activsync 4.5, and then the updater) restart your pc before you continue about your business.

The fix for the pc causes some folders to not want to open, and I thought I had corrupted my phone when i was getting errors trying to access my mobile device through my desktop.

What will happen if I don't run the Microsoft DST update on my Treo 700wx??

it wont list the correct date till Apr when the ROM thinks the DST is

Anyone else had to soft reset for the time change to take? I got worried when I looked at my 700wx and it was 1 hour behind all the clocks in the house.

I soft reset and then the time caught up, anyone else?

Forum time seems to be behind an hour too BTW...

Yeah, I don't know what is going on with the DST on my Windows machine. I installed the "patch" and have restarted since I applied the patch, but even when I synchronize my time with Microsoft's, it is still an hour behind yet. :?:

Your PC? Really? Mine changed by itself. I only had to soft reset my 700wx.

Yeah, I ended up just manually changed the time on my PC. Same kind of situation with my 6700, soft reset didn't update the time, but I did a time sync with the towers and it changed right away. I'm so glad I was so diligent in applying these "patches" so I wouldn't have do these updates. :roll:

my 6700 updated itself. good thing because i would have been late for work this morning. 8)

after the update can I delete the listing in my programs folder, or does it have to stay there perm?

You'll need it again if you hard reset.

I'm having major problems with this.
Treo is ok, but computer and desktop outlook are now one hour back.

Microsoft DST update
 

I use my PPC 6700 with an exchange server and i cant seem to get the appts to match what is on the server. I have used the update on the PPC but appts are still off and some whole day events are 24 hrs off.

Any suggestions out there? thx

Are you sure the Exchange server is up-to-date?

Well I'm at a big university and everyone's outlook is running properly. Don't know what patch they used.

I have recently (1 week) purchased a Sprint Treo 700wx. I am sure the DST patch has already been applied to the device. Is there a way to verify this?

I believe you do need to install the DST patch.
