Re: OctroVideo—Stream live video using your Windows OS phone

Hi,
I was having problems with my Touch running OMJ's latest ROM and finally installed 1.01 and it is working, played around with the settings and it is bit pixelated but you can tell what you are looking at. I plan on using it to send video of the fireworks later on to my girlfriend in S.F., i set the setting at 15 for the frame rate and 80 for quality. of course the lower the quality the more pixelated, at this setting it show ok...

Do let us know the problems you are having so that we can fix it. It will also help us complete integration of Video into the OctroTalk software and that will also enable P2P Video conferencing. We love feedback - please send to support@octro.com.

I downloaded the newer version this weekend and tried it and it worked ok, but I have to say that the video playback was still a fair amount more choppy then ComVu.

But thanks for getting it working on my Titan...

We are working on a new and better version which should be much smoother. Stay Tuned. BTW, didn't you notice the "real-time" nature of our application as compared to comvu?

We are trying to make a list of devices that OctroVideo is known to work on at http://forum.octro.com/index.php?topic=46.0. If you got OctroVideo (v 1.03) to work on a particular model, please let us know here, or by posting on that forum.

Please don't post your experience with a version lower than 1.03, since we know there were issues in that.

When I press "stream" using my HTC Mogul (titan) it immediately stops and hasn't streamed anything.

Try again. This might have been due to an issue with our server. The incompatible device issue is generally when you see "streaming" on the device, but the screen doesn't show frames - only shows black or white.

Can u please make it compulsory to enter in a password in order to view the stream!
not a fixed password also, more like a password (same or a different one) that you enter in, everytime u start the app, and the person who wants to view the stream has to enter in that password
