I just had a thought. We all now the touch has a camera album which we can scroll through our pictures. Has anyone seen or ever wanted a movie album. For those of us who have high capacity storage cards and tend to have a couple of movies in them wouldn't it be great to have a movie album where we can scroll through the movie covers and then press on it to start the movie using something like TCPMP, instead of going through the file explorer of the TCPMP playlist. I dont have the development skills for this but if someone else thinks its a good idea and a nice feature to have on our phones I think those who are capable of developing something like this should take a shot at it. Or even using the touch cube would be an alternative if we can make the .brn files and a cube tool to create the paths.

What do you guys think ?

Great idea, would be nice to have something like this functional.

The new HTC Album finds my movies but it wont play them if you click the play button so that's not really an alternative yet...

When I first got my Touch, the built-in Movie Album worked great... I haven't had a ROM that worked since then though... I haven't tried to see if the new Official ROM works though...

I was definitely able to scroll through them, just like the camera album, and they played (ones taken by my phone.)

What?!? I never had that on my stock rom?!? (oh well) Hopefully well get something good soon.

I been pushing for someone to develop something like this for a while but it has not gained much interest.

If someone can make an app like S2P work with videos/movies and the art can be added sort of like album art for music then we could have this. Like I mentioned in the beginning I dont have the development skills for this but I know there are a few out there who do.

Ok I noticed this thread died out because of lack of interest or whatever.
but I continue to look al over the web for something like what I said in the first thread. In the mean time I have been getting a little creative with some apps to see if I could find something that can come close.

I stated playing around with this app and got something a little similar to what I want.

What you see here is an app created by Musicman247 and its called Musicflo
With this app I am able to take a tab that opens up about 4 side with 9 quicklaunch icons per side. There fully customizable boxes where you can link to virtually any program or file then you can change the icon to even a .jpeg

What I did here is take the tabs link them to the file I want it to open and then add the images of the dvd cover. The media files open with its assigned player being TCPMP, Core or my preffered player Smart movie.

I am not going to pretend that no one else has done this but since I did not see it anywhere else I thought I share.

Um, no offense but I don't think that to intuitive since every time you have to make links and everything, and if you take lots of videos, your only limited to a certain amount of space. But as long as your happy with it, that solves your problem.

Yes you have to change the icons/paths and images everytime you change movies in your storage card but it barely took me a few minutes.
This is really to an advantage to those of us with large capacity sd cards.
I can put 10 -12 .avi movies on my card and I usually change them every few weeks. So going through the process lets say every week or 2 isnt really that bad.

In the meantime this is what we have to settle for until a real movie album is created and this apps makes it easy since you dont have to go through actual registry edits. everything can be done right on the the screen in musicflo.

Yeah in your case it makes sense, but I'm talking about a bunch of little clips that I would take with the phone. So the covers would not work... it would be nice if it could show like the first frame of the clip. If you get what I mean. A bunch of little (useless fun stuff to be exact) on a tab on my today screen. Seems like a waste of space. But if they were actual movies like your doing that would be great for that to show off with.
