Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...

Thanks for the reply. Im with ya on the set up being the fun part. But i gotta admit, i got this mogul exacty the way i want it. The only reason im looking to upgrade my device it for the increased ram (and a slight addiction to wanting the latest and greatest). :) Guess i'll just have to try it and see what happens. Thanks again syrguy1969.

No problem dschoenike. Let us know how it goes, I am sure there are others that are/will be in your position at some point, and if you don't lose any unique system tweaks, it sure would be a lot easier for transition!!

That is why I like this new Backup, I had my 700wx running really crappy, and I did a hard reset and started from scratch, I did the PIM backup saying no to system settings, and now it is running like a well-oiled machine!!! The older SPB Backup didn't offer that!!

I have a question. Hope its not a silly one. The new spb backup software (2.0.1) claims that it "will restore from the archive even if the data has to be moved to a new device or rom". Does that mean it will only restore from a mogul to a different mogul, or from lets say a mogul to a touch/ touch diamond/pro? Just curious cause i love my moguls softwareand setup, but im gonna be getting a new device when they arrive. My apologies if my question was dumb or already answered somewhere else. Thx, dschoenike

In answer to your question, yes. I just proved that it will work by restoring my last Touch backup on my Apache. Not everything works, since there is no cube, but programs, settings, etc are all there. I'd never tried it but your question this morning got me thinking and I decided to give it a try and proved that the device upgrade mode works as advertised as I was able to clone my Touch's settings to the Apache! It didn't seem to overwrite much of the ROM stuff, Splash screens cube etc, but it still did an impressive job of cloning apps and installed stuff. Wow!

I posted a problem that I had with using SPB Backup 2.0.1 for a ROM upgrade.
