NEW OPERA 9.5 Build 1126!!!

Umm..basically are you ready for the latest and greatest of Opera browsing. If so, i proudly present you with the latest build of "Opera 9.5". I've only played with it for about 10 minutes in my apartment, where i get a maximum 1 bar of EV reception and this thing STILL flies!! Panning and zooming are improved and dang near seamless..i could go on but as Lavar Burton from Reading Rainbow used to say: "Dont take MY word for it"

I dont think its possible to install it to your storage card, but results may vary.

-Enjoy!

Anyone else using the Diamond Keyboard? I haven't been able to get that keyboard to work consistently with any of the beta builds (including this one). For instance, can't enter text into google.com.

Edit: The QWERTY works fine, the other 2 appear to be accepting text, but doesn't actually get entered in the text fields.

This version continues to work the best of the various ones I've tried. Not bug free but close enough that I no longer use Opera Mini and have had no incentive to reinstall skyfire. It's probably slightly slower than the other two, especially over 3G (as opposed to wifi) but no so much that I see myself going back. This is one hell of a browser!

It's working really well on my Touch and is really pretty stable and not bad at speed. The other versions have all been really slow and unstable. It works great but will work better when the real version is out.

Really slow on my Mogul... Asking me to end an application to make room in the memory... I don't think this will really ever make it officially to the Mogul. Not enough RAM.

I don't like that it is so limited in the number of tabs it supports... I'm constantly running into the "you've reached the max number of tabs" messages (only 3-4 tabs)...

(1) Type "opera:config" into URL address field.
(2) Scroll down to "User Prefs" (2nd to last item) and tap.
(3) Scroll down to "Max Allowed Tabs" (list is alphabetical).

Set however many you want to allow your phone's RAM to have to absorb. While at it, you might find other things to customize. Opera Mobile 9.5 is wonderful, and is getting better and better with each new build. It's so good that I've had no reason to use SkyFire lately. Guess I'll still keep it available though, just in case...

Re: NEW OPERA 9.5 Build 1126!!!

Overall best version so far. Scroll is improved and cut/paste works in forum text boxes. Hardware keyboard doesn't put a s p a c e between letters as v405 did. On the Mogul v405 would have scrolling problems sometimes that changing to landscape and back would temporarily cure, but v1126 has fixed that. I did find one site with lots of javascript that it won't display that other browsers will including netfront, opera mini and v405. I have both v1126 and v405 installed as the opera9 folder is in different places and moved the v405 Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe to the storage card. Both versions seem to corrupt the bookmarks if the browser gets too low in memory, so I backup the opera6.adr file. It seems worse if folders are used in the bookmarks, but I find them really useful. I like that the limit paragraph enable has been moved to opera:config so I don't have to turn it on every time. As with v405 it seems to work best if the fonts are set to small. Some sites like Wikipedia don't seem to reformat if the font is medium or large.

Looking forward to the official commercial release. With 256MB of RAM coming on the next generation of phones along with VGA, this should be a great mobile browser. I usually keep the plug-in and javascript disabled unless I need it, then it's easy to enable.

This is great man. It works a lot better compared to Pocket IE. And it DOES support landscape mode as well as portrait mode.

I keep getting the message "memory is full" and I am forced to close the applications (this is with all tabs closed, except opera). Any suggestions about managing my memory usage?
