Does anyone know how to change the sounds for OZ Instant Messenger?
 

I can hardly hear when I get a new message. I was hoping that maybe someone had found out how to change this. I also wish I could make it vibrate, but this only works when the phone is in vibrate-only mode.

This is on a Sprint Vogue, but I believe OZ Instant Messenger is on a good number of phones/carriers.

I have combed through the registry, looking for settings, but it looks like I'll have to add my own key if I want to change something.

Any ideas?

try downloading the wow srs cab, it can boost the potential for the loudness of the sound on your phone..

Thanks for the suggestion, and I might just have to do that, but the main problem is the sound OZ uses is fairly low volume, and unobtrusive. I want something that is loud, and gets my attention. Perhaps the sound of a horn honking or a siren... I find myself waking my phone up all the time, just to see if I have an IM, wasting my battery to the Nth degree...

i havent used oz in a while, but you might be able to change the notification sound.. and if not.. id prefer you to use jive talk anyway, because once you try it out you will say F*** oz messenger lol.. why you think i havent used it in so long? lol

I tried Jive a while back--I can't remember why I gave up on it... guess I'll try it again, because I'm craving custom settings...

Hehe. I just downloaded it, installed it, but it won't run. I get a "System.TypeLoadException"

Sigh... that's probably the error I had before... I'll do some research on it.

did you do a soft reset? some builds also arent compatible but if you are on the updated one then you should be fine..

Yup, soft-reset already... dang... I really want to try this. A few others are having the same problem, as I've seen in the JiveTalk thread... Damn, I don't want to flash yet ANOTHER ROM... That's the 4th this week... I'm getting tired of restoring all my programs, especially since a lot of ROMS don't support UC.

The ROM I am using is based off the 19209 build...
