My test keyboard...for portrait English only, this only skins this style of keyboard. It is impossible to skin the full kb, and the symbols and numbers page black....I am working on this. To install just copy and paste the images into the htc diamond default folder "mine was installed into the root windows directory"
you will need to overwrite.

Let me know how it looks and I will continue this skin package!!! There are over 100 images in this kb...It will take a while to complete. I have to make every button individually, and dont plan on making a landscape skin unless the demand is there.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...-capmap_up.png

p.s after digging around in the files I found out you can change what symbols are on the symbol selection screen by editing sympad0409 in notepad. the first 50 or so are the symbols Unicode value. the last are the smiles. to erase ones you don't use just look up its Unicode and delete. If you want to put an entry like www. or .com you need to have a \ in front of whatever you want. I have not tried anything past 4 characters I.E .net....so try this at your own risk

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

So there's no way to skin the QWERTY? That sucks, since the number pad one is pretty weak. Why get a smart phone so you can be was slow as a regular phone, (or slower?)

Oh well. Maybe they will come out with some sort of update...

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

You do awesome work man! Does that attached file only include the images for the keypad (12 key) or does it also include the touch keyboard (20 key) version?

Either way, I know it's a ton of work but if you get all of them skinned...damn, my phone will look so pretty, and I'll name my next computer after you! lol

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

The full kb can be skinned but not a dark color. The letters and numbers are an overlay that is applied to the buttons and the font is black. Once I figure out how to change it to white all will be good. The full skin set is coming, Its just the full kb and symbol kb's will not be exactly the same

Wow...really? Are you using WM6 or 5? On my touch it actually replaces the stock keyboard.

I used SIPchange to change my default keyboard to this one and it stays after a soft reset.

my 6800 does the same thing. still a nice addition, it makes a simple text message reply go a lot smoother not having to open the keyboard up

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

These keyboards look awesome. I'm not exactly sure how to load the qwerty keyboard file. I unzipped the Touch Diamond Keyboard.zip file on my desktop, but the only application file in the folder will not open because it is not a valid win32 app.

Do I have to drag the unzipped folder to my Touch hard drive, then open the file "xT9Settings" ?

Thank you for your help

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

The only problem I have with the DIamond keyboard is when you open up a new text message, and you try and type in the name of the person you want to text, the smartdial/name thing doesn't pop up.

Like on the stock HTC keyboard, if I wanted to text 'Tim,' I'd hit 'T' in the to: box, and the names with 'T' would pop up.

For some reason, the diamond keyboard doesn't have this enabled.

Anybody know a fix?

This is just a teaser of whats to come.... Each kb type will have several different hand made designs to chose from. I have all the full kb skins completed. Just need to start the other 2. Hopefully I can make them all match :)

Is Touchpal what is already on my Touch? If so, then this is better, especially if you want a QWERTY keyboard. I like the QWERTY on this because it makes things like typing unique words or passwords MUCH easier. It also is a bit more intuitive.

No, Touchpal is another soft keyboard.

Re: Touch Diamond qwerty-keyboard

I love this keyboard, but has anyone else noticed their phone slowing down with it installed? After un-installing it, the problem went away, but came back after re-installing. The start menu and task manager seem to respond slower along with a few programs (namely Oxios). The amount of RAM I have is fine, there's no leak, yet the phone has definitely slowed down.

It does on mine. Are you sure you set it from the default Italian version to the English version under options? Just mess with those a bit, no reason for that not to work.
