AAC/Mpeg4 Plugin/ TCMP 1.0 Announced
2 Attachment(s)
I meant to post this awhile back:
In case you want to play mp4 (aac/apple quicktime) files on your PPC and you get that Error message stating that that codec was removed, etc. then you'll want this file. (It's when you get the picture but no sound) Just download and install. It was pulled from TCMP because of Apple and copyright issues. *Note: You will need The Core Media Player for this. It will not work with Windows Media Player |
You must have seen the same post that I saw with a link to the Developers site. There are a few more plugins for this but I have not figured out if they would be useful or not.
I am putting together a tutorial on how to watch DVDs on the 6700, I had to stumble through it using a couple posts from other sites, but I pretty much have it down to a few easy steps now. I will get that up shortly. Thanks for the post Malatesta, let me know if you find value in any of the other plugins. |
Thanks guys for the add-on.

yea thanks. I'm still getting some kind of qualcomm error. know anything about it

TCMP .81 RC1
2 Attachment(s)
For those who just can't wait to get the latest vesion of TCMP, here is .81 RC 1 beta.
You'll need to extract this file on your desktop and copy the folder back to your PPC. Then create a shortcut to your Start Menu. Or, I imagine if you had pocket .rar you could just extract all of these files, overwriting your current TCMP files and everything would be fine as well. Edit: This doesn't really work too well so best to skip and either use .72 or wait for 1.0 |
Malatesta,
I installed this .81 version and all i got is audio and no video. Do I have to uninstall the old version? |
hmmm...just tried a video and got the same thing (and I didn't have an earlier version installed)
not sure what's up. maybe there's some things to install. I'll look into it. |
i got the same thing. even some videos that played fine before come out with the black screen. it can say that it does work. play the video like you would. go into settings>memory>running programs> and close tcmp. then go back into it and the video with acc audio will play like a normal video. now go into another video and neither of them will play without getting the black screen. i see why it was the beta though!
|
ok pretty weird, i got all the videos that couldnt play before working with no black screen. still cant get mp4 videos. i have playing mpg,3gp, and an avi video. even has the new tv with remote logo. i did extract all the new .81 update files onto my storage card though?
|
Same here. Sometime it plays the video and sometime it doesn't. I just reloaded the .72 version and wait for they work out the bugs in this latest version.
|
Yeah I think that's best (to use .72 for now)...
Actually, here is some info on TCMP: The BEST and most used Free Media Player is now version 1, according to TCPMP website, not the development site. Version 1 will be released shortly this month and it will come in many options to choose from. As well as skinnable feature... ...The other News is it will not be free anymore. http://www.tcpmp.com/ |
the free part sucks!
|
WOW! Ok, this latest version works extremely well for me. I've been using version .72RC1 for a while on an HP6315, then an HTC Blue Angel. It has been choppy watching certain podcasts (which I sync with Juice + MobSync). And even the past few weeks with this 6700 has been choppy for some mp4/mov files. But I have not had any of the problems others have been having. It might be because I just did a Hard Reset, so you might need to clear off the old version. But the video has been the smoothest yet. I'm running off a minsd card and still using the same old AAC file. After unpacking, I just copied to the card and made a shortcut in Start Menu. Thanks for the post!! Let me know if you want to compare notes (or for me to test out the video file)
|
With mucho thanks
I use tcpmp as much as possible and have run into this problem with the AAC files too...
Thanks so much for the solution. |
bump, for anyone who finds this useful ;)
|
Okay so I installed both files and threw a Mp4 file onto my card.
When I open TCMP and look for the file it doesn't even appear in the file explorer of TCMP. I went into settings and checked the box for mp4. Shouldn't it work? |
I tried downloading this program to my phone. I first noticed that it wouldn't play audio for videos that I recorded with my camcorder. "Error player CQualcomm QCELP not supported by the player." Is this a problem that everyone has? But I can just watch the video on Windows Media if necessary.
Secondly I had no problems transferring my music to the phone but the I can't get my video and movies to transfer at all rather I want to play it on windows media or tcmpc. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? |
I don't know if this will help anyone but when i use the most recent versions of tcpmp and I start a video all i get is a black screen. If you tell it to go full screen it will show the vid correctly and when you get back to portrait mode it will show correctly? Dont know why this works but I hope it helps someone. Additionally the latest versions of tcpmp had mp4 audio codecs removed due to some copyright thing. I believe this would kkep the files from showing up in thethe briwser in tcpmp. If you search around even this site you will find the mp4 plugin.
