Total Commander(Reg edit, ftp client, zip prog. & more)

Total Commander is a great program if you are looking for a program that can do registry edits, lan access, ftp client, a zip file program(even though the new ROM has one this one can do .rar, .tar, .gz, & more) & more. Takes alittle more playing with to learn the features and how to work it. If anyone who downloads and uses feel free to ask if you dont know how to do something. I recently started using it instead of PHM Regedit (which is good for new users) because of all the extra features it has. Mainly the ftp client. I now can backup, or work on this forums files via my PPC! Woo Hoo! :D

Re: Total Commander(Reg edit, ftp client, zip prog. & mo

I installed Total Commander on my Treo 700wx, but can't figure out how to access the Regisrty Editor. There's a yellow rubix cube icon, which looked similar to the standard blue icon on Windows, but this is for zipping files.
Might something be missing off my square screen?

Thanks.

go to the root of your ppc where the Program Files, Windows folder is (you can hit the backslash icon). At the top you'll see a "folder" named "\\Plugins". Click on that and viloa, this should bring you to a listing for the ftp, lan and registry.

As Chufly said, it'll be the top most folder. It's named "\\" (with no "plugins" after it). Tap on that and you're good to go. Remember that to go to the previous screen all you need to do is tap the button in the upper right corner that is named "..".

TC is a very, very useful tool.

yours doesn't say "\\Plugins" at the top? Odd...although I'm using the public beta of 2.5 (maybe that's why)..
