Sharing files from PPC and Desktop over Internet?
 

I tried searching for remote access programs, but couldn't really find anything helpful. I know there has to be a program out there I just can't find it.

I want to be able to transfer files from PPC to my Desktop (I have it setup for Remote Desktop now through DNS). Just in case I ever need something on my computer while I'm out I can just grab it on my phone.

Orb works great for me when it comes to remotely transfering files. Simply set up the directories you want Orb to have access to and you're all set. While I'm at home though, MyMobiler works great for transfering files to and from the pc.

LogMeIn is a great Remote Control / File Trasfer program for PC and PPC. I use it all the time. There is a monthly fee, but it is very small.

The services like logmein, gotomypc, etc... generally have a client. For remote control they work great. For just file transfer, not quite as good. Go try www.avvenu.com. It's awesome! It's just file transfer - but it goes both ways. You install a client on your pc, then you access via webpage. You can also allow access to a specific folder/drive to a guest for a limited time. It's a great service (for free! ;) They do have pay versions, but nothing I need....

Why not just set up a simple ftp server?

Mocha FTP Server is a great FTP server that runs on your PPC. It's free and you can download files with any FTP client right from you phone, even the SD card.
