Re: You Tube Player NEW..

you should just look for a program cab called HTC Streaming... load it into your titan/nogul, then just use m.youtube.com to view and select.

htc streaming adds rstp streaming to your wm5 or 6 device. should work on any wm5 or 6 device, works fantastic on my mogul.

Re: You Tube Player NEW..

How is this better than vTap? vTap even searches other video sites like veoh...

Does this work with the normal full youtube site? Because last time i checked, m.youtube didn't have all the videos of the normal site. It didn't have some of my favorite videos

vTap is nice but you have to wait for the whole video to download/buffer, then wait for it to play. And for somewhat long videos, it would always stop and rebuffer for a long time, then continue to play. With youtubeplay, It never stops and rebuffers and it plays right away instead of having to wait for it (i think it buffers while the video is playing)

UPDATE 11/14/08 youtubeplay 1.0.0.10

youtubeplay 1.0.0.10 - YouTube Player - featuring full FLV
This is my YouTube search/player application. Bit like the latest CorePlayer.

It allows you to search for videos in a nice friendly Windows Mobile 5 and greater app and then plays the full FLV video (not miniscule MPEG4 versions) with its own player.

This app can download the FLV videos for offline use and also then extract the soundtrack to an MP3 file.

The app is written in a mixture of .net and C so you need the .net runtime, v2 or v3.5:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

The video player overlay is hacked out of TCPMP and the FLV part is based on FFMPEG.

....CHANGELOG....

youtubeplay v1.0.0.10 updated 11/11/08, changes:

New - Added the facility to extract the audio as an MP3 from any saved FLV
Fix - HTC Streaming Media option should now work again
NOTE - I have now removed any efforts at getting this to work on devices with less than WM5, just wouldn't work.

Hope it Helps.

Thanks T M Z

Re: UPDATE 11/14/08 youtubeplay 1.0.0.10

Greetings. I'm not tmz :) but i also have been following and using this app for a while. Other users over at xda have been reporting the same problems you're having, and a solution has not been found yet. Strange that it works fine for some and not so well for others. The only suggestion i've read, is to uninstall and reinstall and hope for the best. Give it shot, it can't hurt to try.

I've had this too, and at that same time WVD, MusicID, and even pIE would also fail, showing various Internet connection error messages. But there should've been no such problem, because Opera and Iris both worked fine.

All my uninstall/reinstall trials ended in error, so I went ahead with the ulitmate: A hard reset. Actually what I did was to flash from an early leak of HTC's WM v6.1 Sprint Touch ROM # 3.03.651.2, up to the final official release with the same ROM # except it has a 4 at the end.

The good news: It worked, problem solved!

The bad news: Still don't know what was wrong. And worse, it took many many hours to get my twenty-some apps all back up, running, and tweaked. Did not use any type of saved back-up image, for fear of reinstalling whatever the bug was.

In conclusion, I suppose it could be possible that something about the .2 ROM could be the problem. Unlikely. Still checking your ROM version is way easier than hard resetting.

Start > Settings > System (tab) > Device Information > Version (tab)

My guess is the problem is more likely to be some registry value, user ID, t parameter, or other such needle in the haystack.
