noob question: activesync
ok, what exactly is happening when my 6800 syncs with my laptop? I mean, I know it "synchronizes" but I don't see any duplicate system file structure on my laptop or anything.
Reason I ask is that my buddy told me that I can hard-reset my 6800 and then, when I plug it into my laptop, it will reload everything clean sort of like norton ghost... is that true? please explain this mystery to me. thanks! |
Re: noob question: activesync
It snycs everything into outlook. Contacts, appointments, tasks, emails, and files. So all the contacts that are saved in outlook would be restored when you snyc after a hard reset. No mystery, when you first setup a relationship with your ppc and pc you have to check off what items you want to snyc between the two.

Re: noob question: activesync
If you do a hard reset you will return your phone to it's original factory settings. It will be as if you just took that bad boy out of the box. Syncing to your laptop/pc will only restore those items you established a relationship for.
You need something like Sprite, SPB Backup, etc. to back-up your entire phone (third party apps, docs, games, themes, etc.). There are plenty of discussions that address various back-up applications. Start searching and reading my friend! late, Coz |
