SMS/email on the go!!!!
I just signed up, and will test (posting results as I go), but this looks like what I have been looking for with my phone full of contacts that don't seem to mind texting me and expecting a response eventhough they know I am on the road!!!!
As the site outlines, you sync your contacts to an (877) number, and place it on speed-dial. When your driving, you can call the (877) number, and text a contact of choice just by dictating on the phone. This also works for email, and sending yourself reminders!!!! As I mentioned, I will post results as I go: http://jott.com/ P.S. Did I mention this service is FREE???? It also won't affect your phone's memory or usage (except minutes) because it is not an installed app. P.S.S. Pass it along (if you like it) to friends or family as well, it can be used on ANY cell phone, (or landline I believe) not just our PPCs!!!!! |

Re: SMS/email on the go!!!!
My main point of interest right now (and I will test ASAP) is how long it will take an SMS to go through. I have heard about 5 minutes which is border-line for me, I would like faster, but it still beats the hell out of trying to type and drive (which I refuse to do)!!!

Re: SMS/email on the go!!!!
I have sent myself SMS from the PC, and it went through in a minute or so.....not bad.
I would say (as far as all the additions Jott adds to email and SMS) that the additions are worth the convenience of the abilities it offers.....kinda like paying a dollar more for a gallon of milk at the convenience store vs. fighting the crowds and lines at the grocery store....there is a trade off!! |

Re: SMS/email on the go!!!!
Wait. Am I supposed to be able to talk to the 877 number and it will put it into text and text it to someone for me?
