thanks for the advice. i will keep the live search for the gas, google map for the most accurate locations, and telenav for the turn by turn.

So what date plan is needed for telenav to be free? I am on a sero plan. Will that do the job? Thanks

Tried them all, there is no doubt Telenav was designed for a phone.. Its by far IMO the best navigation out there.. I have said it before, I rather use Telenav than the BMW 550 Navigation onboard.

http://www.tigergps.com/garminmobile20.html has the garmin software and maps on a SD card plus you get the dashmount w/ receiver built in for only 60 bucks- I have not used it yet but am thinking of getting it. It is notmally 249 on the Garmin site - not sure how these guys ca nsell it for 60 bucks.

The only problem I see with that is you have to put the card in the slot for it to work. that means pulling the cover take out sd card, insert their card drive. When your done pull the cover again, swap cards again. Seems like a lot of work. Maybe someone has it and can chime in.
