HTC data Backup corrupt file help
 

I recently created a backup for my mogul using data backup it had previously worked properly however thing time the file came out ending in .2e90dd96.menc when i put it in the phone after a software upgrade.. Is anyone here able to make this file readable? i have renamed it to just dbk however it states the file is corrupt, if anyone can help please message or post here and i can send the backup file.

EDIT: the extension is due to the file being encrypted when it was written. basically i need the file decrypted however i have no idea how to do this the phone does not do it itself even with the same lock code as was previously used.

you were supposed to use dotfred's data backup before the rom upgrade to backup only your pim, but you can still try reinstalling the htc data backup to the device if you have the cab in the card.

data backup is reinstalled, it's just that it's an encrypted file that's apparently the root of all evil in this situation

the .dbk is still stored in the storage card after reinstallation, so you can try to use it again, but it may only work with your PIM, and i dunno about custom setup. i just followed the instrustions as explained by Pibe38, and everything went well.
