Software to back phonebook up to a file?

I am looking for a piece of software that I can run from my phone that backs up my contacts to a file I can put on my SD card and restore from the file using the same software.

Do a Google search for "XML Contacts Backup". It's a small app that will export all contacts to individual xml files, which you can store in a directory on your SD card. Then you can use the app to restore all the contacts or individual contacts whenever you need to.

Also, search for PPCPIMBackup on XDA from DotFred. This app will backup contacts, appointments, messages, tasks, etc.
