GS Alarm/enAlarmPPC: 2 Great Alarm Clocks (Updated)

2 Attachment(s)
So for those who need an effective, reliable alarm clock...this thing should help you out:

GS AlarmClock

http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/data/AlarmClock_E.jpg

I'm just saying it's really easy to set, very loud and simple to use.

Plus it's free. :D
---------------------------------------------------------
enAlarmPPC 3.2

This is a new one that just added 240x240 support with 3.2. It also works very well with a lot of customization, easy interface and lite (320kb).

Costs just under $8 but it's worth it, imo.

Thanks Malatesta I need this I will give it a try and report back :D :)

enroy 07-13-2006 08:33 AM

If this works for you D5, you might be able to use magicbutton finally!!! Unless you got that figured out already. Or perhaps I am confusing you with another person. After reading and re-reading so many posts on here, I forget who had issues with what programs.

Big D5 07-13-2006 05:10 PM

This wont unzip says unknown compression method on my laptop and it doesn't unzip on my PPC either. Could someone please check this out for me thanks

Wideawake 07-13-2006 06:36 PM

Big D5 07-13-2006 10:00 PM

OK got it loaded know I have been trying it out. I will use it to wake me in the morning aid I will let you know in a few days how its going. This is cool Thanks for the help :wav:

Malatesta 07-14-2006 12:34 AM

ah yes, sometimes I use the super high compression of Winzip which is not compatible with all zip programs! sorry 'bout that!

Big D5 07-14-2006 09:42 PM

Alarm clack update day one. Worked flawlessly, love the snooze and EZ to set. Will check back tomorrow.

Thanks Malatesta this is exactly what I needed. :D

Malatesta 07-14-2006 10:00 PM

Great! Glad it's working. :D

Big D5 07-15-2006 08:38 AM

Alarm clock day 2, got up early today before the alarm went off. As usual I was playing with my phone and had done a soft reset at the same time that the alarm was set to go off. The alarm went off on time right in the middle of the reset while the startup screen was still showing. I have had no double alarms either. This is great!! :)

Big D5 07-16-2006 08:36 AM

Alarm clock day 3. Added one today screen programs back to the mix. Device status was not allowing the original alarm to sound. The alarm sounded on time and I even used the snooze a couple of times. Worked flawlessly

Big D5 07-17-2006 07:49 PM

Alarm clock day 4 this will be my last daily report. I have found my alarm clock this works great Thanks Malatesta

Wideawake 07-17-2006 07:52 PM

:D

Glad it's working out for you!

Although I don't use the alarm feature much myself, it's nice to keep such a tiny program around JIK and be able to count on it when I need it.

and it syncs? no...

It's a .cab file, has to be installed directly on the device e.g. put it on your miniSD card and run it on your PPC. If you're doing that it should install just fine.

caldwell21 07-25-2006 01:49 AM

Thanks a lot it's working fine

thank you =]

pzztgotbagz 07-28-2006 01:31 AM

i think i will try this and see how well it actually works

Big D5 07-29-2006 03:26 PM

Ok I finally missed an alarm. It happened 2 days in a row and it was after I started using smallmenu again. I removed smallmenu 2 days ago and the alarm has worked fine. Just thought I should share. don't know what the relation between the 2 is but its good info to know. 8)

x_v_6700 08-02-2006 09:53 PM

That has quickly became a must have program.

Thanks!

Big D5 08-02-2006 10:14 PM

Without this program I would still be asleep. :sleepy2:

wingzero 08-02-2006 11:01 PM

Big D, If I were you, I would get an alarm clock and use the ppc as a backup. I get up at 4:30 in the morning and 8 out of 10 times I got up before the alarm went off. The other two times I just had too much to drink the night before :D

shagratt 11-26-2006 12:56 AM

Thankyou for sharing! I was looking for something like this for a long time

JuniorPhatFarm 12-13-2006 03:31 PM

Thanks... This woke me up this morning... I was hating the 8525 for this until I used your app.

redhat 12-22-2006 12:18 AM

Is this supposed to work on a Treo 700wx? The settings page doesn't fit on the screen so I can't see all the options or save the settings.

There are no scroll bars to see the whole settings page. So it looks like the OK/Save button might be off the screen where I can't get to it.

JBabey 12-22-2006 07:15 AM

this program is amazing, it is able to bypass phonealarms overides for sound, as well as being able to hide from my task manager and disable device suspend.

its simple

its free

it actually f*k*ng works

its tiny

Thank you for sharing this. (my one year hunt for a working alarm clock comes to an end) .... although i do wish i could choose an mp3 but since this program works ill forgive this.......just this once.......dont ever let it happen again........

e-dub 12-23-2006 04:55 PM

only thing i feel this is missing is to make it an automatically recurring event. sometimes i'm two breaths away from being sound asleep, then i remember i need to set my alarm :(

edit- first post is exactly two months from my start date lol

eric b

Malatesta 12-24-2006 11:47 AM

bump: added a 2nd alarm (not free) that works very well even with Treos

shytown 01-15-2007 04:38 PM

hmm. maybe it's just me, but the settings dialog is not full displayed on my treo 700wx... which leads me to believe it's not made for the 700wx haha.

it did work well when I just guessed what was remaining on the screen... but not worth keeping on there... especially because I don't know what the remaining 2 or 3 options were. I know one was to see the about info.

anyone have a screenshot of the full dialog?

Why do you need this on a 700wx :?: I have never had any problems with my alarm and I use it to wake me up every day.

shytown 01-15-2007 08:59 PM

well it's a pain to convert mp3s to wav files just so they can be one of the selections for the alarms... because none of the default ones are loud enough for me. I mean, I can live with it... I'm just a bit lazy haha.

i am having this same issue. I really need a good alarm that works!!

xdalaw 03-15-2007 08:34 AM

If you have a square screen device and can't see all the settings for the free alarm clock posted by Malatesta at the top of this thread, check out post 3 and 4 on this thread:

http://mytreo.net/forum/index.php?PH...&topic=34615.0

It explains how to change the settings dialogue box to fit better on a square screen.

Works perfectly on my 700Wx.

draghn 06-28-2007 01:56 AM

I got the second one posted, enAlarmPPC and it works well for me on the 6800. mp3s work fine with it.
