free program to determine memory 'hogs'?
 

Is there a free program out there that will show you the largest hogs of memory in you phone? I've only got about 6 meg free of program storage.

Also, can someone explain the numbers that windows shows you? Under STORAGE is shows TOTAL 49mb, and INUSE 43mb. Then under PROGRAM is shows TOT 48mb and INUSE 20mb. Does this mean I have a overall total of 97mb (49 + 48)? And how is the split between the two determined?

I'm on my first Windows Mobile device (newbie) so I'm not sure how to interpret this or locate the biggest users of the STORAGE TOTAL number.

If you go to setting and then the memory icon there is a link at the bottom to find large files using storage memory. If thats not what you are looking for many pay programs have 30 day trials you could use one of these on your phone so find what you are looking for.

You have 3 memories on your phone. RAM, ROM and SD Flash.

The numbers under Storage are ROM. The numbers under Program are RAM.

search the forums for task managers there are many free one to choose from... as an added bonus i'd recommend Quickmenu which is a startmenu shell and task manager in one. it's free, extra lightweight and is leaps and bounds better than the stock startmenu... give it a try!

the task manager that comes on no2chems 6.1 shows CPU %. i believe its called wkTask, if you arent up to flashing new ROMS yet, you should be able to find just the program or something similar and like nautica said QuickMenu is pretty decent. It has an option that will reclaim wasted memory easily.
