Faded Background Image

2 Attachment(s)
I have searched all over but cannot find an answer to this question. I have UL set up full screen with 5 tabs and no tab headers (still have top & bottom WM bars, that's fine).

My issue is, that when I use a default wallpaper for the today screen background it looks fine (dark colors), but when I load my own image (this time perfec10.jpg found in http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...41350&page=122 post #1211 by tsousan) it shows up completely washed out. I have tried all the UL Display settings for "colorize background" including the "don't colorize" option. The best I can do is "color 4, blurring 0" which gives me the darkest result, but it's still very washed out.

Here's the background image I'm using (perfec10.jpg)... but here's what it looks like as a today screen wallpaper (imperfec10.jpg).

Is this a problem with UL or is it a problem with Today screen wallpapers? what can I do?

Open the image in the photo viewer, in the menu set to home screen BG, set transparency to zero.

Thanks, John.

I've only been tweaking WM5 & WM6 for 3 years, and sometimes I still feel like a :newb:!

UL doesn't start after hard reset

Hi, could someone tell me what am I doing wrong?

I hard reset my phone.
Previously, I saved the UltimateLaunch.ini on the Storage Card. After reset, I did copy/paste of that file in Program Files/Ultimate Launch.

Next, this is what's happening - I activate UL as a plugin, and it shows distorted.
Then, I dis activate it and activate another one, randomly. It shows on the Today screen, as expected.

But then, when I try to re-activate UL, it doesn't show anymore.
I try to activate any other plugin - no one shows up.

I soft reset - I still cannot activate any plugin, if before reset, UL it was checked. If before reset, I uncheck UL and check something else (Calendar, e.g.), then the Calendar will appear on the screen.

Long story short, if I activate and deactivate UL, it will not re-appear again.

I did not have yet purchased the license - not sure if that has to do with anything.

Could someone help me?

Here is my UL setup see why I think it blows away TFLO. Rename UL.zip to UL.avi let me know what you think. :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I couldn't open the file you sent me.

In the meanwhile, I think I discovered what's happening, so I'll share that:
when checking the UL as described, I didn't have installed all the plugins that were included on the saved .ini file.

The moment I deleted from the Settings the plugins that were not actually present on the device, UL loaded normally and allowed also the other plugins to load if checked

(previously, although UL was unchecked and Calendar was checked, Calendar did not appear on the screen, unless soft reset - and the story repeated after activate-deactivate UL).

It seems that UL is kind of "all or nothing" :)

Re: Ultimate Launch

Ultimate Launch may not be as "pretty" as TF3D but it is much better in actually maximizing your Today Screen and launching applications. The downside is that it can be a bit tedius to initially set up.

The way I see it, TF3D is nice to "show off" your phone, UL is nice for real usage of your phone.

What do you mean "still letting me have htc home"? Do you mean you can still use TF3D? Can that be one of the tabs? When you are on that tab, does TF3D function normally?

Don't you need Second Today to display UL with TF3D?

Nice, I just wish the cube were smooth on a VGA device as well... Sadly, I think I have to ditch the whole cube effect if I want to use this, as the slowdown/slide show effect negates having it at all.

What are you using for your first tab? That's a really cool plugin setup.
