Haven't seen this here yet. Apologies if it has already been posted.

And a link to the XDA thread, containing links to a file that is uninstallable, and has smaller icons:

Are these only for HTC Devices?

Using it now. Posting this from it.

It renders faster than NetFront but it doesnt have intelligent zooming like NetFront does. It requires LOTS of dragging the stylus around to read pages or to make posts.

I also think the UI is way too gawdy. Part of me thinks this was intended for a VGA device, and not a QVGA one.

Either way, it is very fast and it renders pages in a more pristine state than NetFront but the fact it doesn't have an intelligent text system at this point will keep me from using it exclusively.

This leaked build is for VGA devices and not QVGA devices. But I wish it did have the intelligent zoom like Opera Mini, Netfront does, this is an early beta build that was leaked so perhaps it just wasn't in this build and will be in an upcoming build.

Memory usage is through the roof.

I will have to go back to my Touch if I want to use this on a lot of sites.

When it runs out of memory, it just stops loading images on the page but so far no crashes.

Yes it does, you have to double tap to zoom out and double tap to zoom back in, unlike Netfront where u click only once. If you single click from full screen mode it takes you to the link, where Netfront zooms you back in. Maybe we're talking about two seperate things - what exactly does intelligent zoom do? I do agree with you though, it takes a while to scroll, when Netfront is very snappy and fast. Opera is also faster at switching between landscape and portrait mode, and I like how it automatically switches to full screen when you zoom in. This is the only advantage I see, hopefully there will be some improvements in the official beta release. Netfront seems faster for me, for now I'm sticking with it.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.33 beta

When I talk about intelligent zoom, I'm talking about the text formatting.

NetFront lines the text up so it fits the screen perfectly, Opera doesn't appear to do this.

In its defense though, if this was meant for VGA devices, it is possible it does in fact do it, we just can't tell because of our smaller screens. Its a feature that wouldn't make sense to leave out, you know?

I wasn't that impressed with opera 9.33 on my HTC vogue (qvga); however on my dell x50v (vga) it is AMAZING! Even in the zoomed out mode you can read the text, yet see the entire web page. Web 2.0 pages like Google Maps work very well.
