Any program that will read Text messages outloud
 

Does anyone know of a program that will read out your text message instead of having to read it. My buddy has a mogul/titan and just recently lost most of his eyesight so it is hard for him to read text message and other stuff. But he pretty much knows his way around the phone and uses the voice command to do pretty much anything on this mogul/titan. He can also see some of the stuff but its blurry to him so reading a text message is extremly hard. So I told him let me find out on this forum I visit if anyone knows of a program that will read the text messaging for you.

That really sucks, tell you friend we are all really sorry. I don't know of anything but I hope you can find him something.

MSVC will read text messages and incoming calls.

u can see the guy is new to the forum...so ur post with the abreviation prolly didnt help him much...a link to the program for him would be nice...i would do it but im not familiar with the program ur talking about, and plus its ur suggestion u should post a link for it

Thanks to all of you for the help.. I just purchased MSVC for him so I will swing over to his house tomorrow and give it a try tomorrow. Once again thanks for the help...

There is a free one, I downloaded, its called tellmetext.

Microsoft Voice Command is nice. My friend uses it, and he likes it a lot. I have never personally tried it, though.

I'll check out tellmetext as well...(I love XDA, great apps from there)!!! What would be really cool as well, is working in reverse....what you say gets transcribed into text message!!!

I've just been checking out a program called SAPIE.

It sounds great. But I couldn't get it to install on my PPC6700. And then I couldn't get it to completely uninstall by any of the usual methods. I'm still working on getting rid of it on my PPC and also my PC. Searching other forums indicated that some people have had a lot of success with it. And others, like me, not.
I'm still waiting for a response from their tech support. 3 days so far.
Program comes in various versions from $14.95 to full feature dictation and interaction at around $40.00. If it worked, it would be worth it. Maybe some day. Or maybe, if you try it, you'll be in the "works for me" group.

MSVC didn't read the ENTIRE text message.. So that is a bummer. So I baically donated money to M$ for the hello of it.. hahahah I will give the other app a try...

Tell me text sounds like a crazy robot toy I had back in the day... I had so much fun texting myself bizarre stuff just to hear it read back . But I don't know if I could use it everyday its too weird...

I tried tell me text and I cant get it to work. I'm running dcd's rom 2.2.0 with threaded sms, could that be the reason. I downloaded the certificate also, but when i het texts i hear nothing. I tried putting my text alert on default and still nothing. Can somebody help me.
