.cab thread
Hey everyone, I've lurked around on here for a bit, and absolutely love this site. One thing I've always wanted is a thread to attach .cab files to with their descriptions, as searching the site for a specific app, especially with my mogul, can be so time consuming. I'm too much of a n00b to do it myself, but i though it might be a good idea to get a comprehensive list condensed into one thread. My apologies if this is redundant, and feel free to to move/delete/edit this post moderators, but if anyone thinks this is a good idea, let's run with it. Thanks!:violent2:

The issue with this is that it would become a mix of discussion of too many applications at the same time and information would be most likely lost. That's why we have different threads for each application, to post it, discuss it, and keep it updated with new versions, etc.
|
why can't we have a thread with all current list of applications? ... who cares what the disucssion is.. even lock it. don't be such a pessimist pibe88 and be open to ideas.
i like the idea of a thread with all in one app list.. such as this http://www.aximsite.com/boards/appli...ing-point.html |
Not being a pessimist, just realisitic, we've seen threads like that that end up dying... as a matter of fact, I was just coming back to this thread with the same idea of posting links to the threads discussin all the apps, instead of actually posint the CABs.
However, we'd need someone to create it... any volunteers? |
Let's not piss off the Mods. I like the idea of organized threads though, maybe one for games, productivity software, themes, extentions, blah blah blah. I think it would be more work than it's worth though.
Personally, searching for what you want works best imo. |
i have some .cabs and zips on my card. i could post them if mods allow.
edit: i could post some links too, but i cant remember where i found most of my app.. im willing to search and post some links though. |
You are more than welcomed to post what apps you have or links to them as long as they are not warez, cracked, etc.
Elaborating on my previous posts, these are some examples of threads that have compilations of applications that have not gone on for too long, keep in mind I am only posting recent ones, didn't go too far back on my search. List of Installed Programs Five FREE Must-Have Apps [Part 1] xero, thanks for looking out, but I'm not going to get "pissed off" because someone calls me a pessimist or that I need to be more open minded. It was not really an insult, and I am only posting from my experience as a moderator for more than a year, and to quote Battlestar Galactica (one of my favorite shows): "All this has happened before, and it will happen again" ;) |
i miss the download section, since im bored and have way waaayyyyy too much time, ill try to find every link to .cabs.

<on topic> Once upon a time, and I can't remember where, I saw a menu that listed all the attachments on a forum. It probably wasn't this site, and unfortunately I don't remember which one it was. Something like that would be interesting, though. It listed the attachment, who attached it, and a link to the thread it was in. You could directly download the attachment or click the link to go to the thread and read about it. Hopefully I'll run across it again and can look into how they did it. |
Well, I found a mod for vBulletin that should do what I mentioned in my post above:
Attachment Browser 2.1 It appears to be for vBulletin 3.0 and may need to be tweaked to work on 3.6. |
