If you purchased Pocket Informant 2007 after September 1, 2007 then your upgrade to Pocket Informant 8 should be free.

You can enter either your registered email address or the activation code from PI 2007. You can then select either the touch screen or non-touch screen version for the upgrade.

(This includes those who took advantage of the free offer for Pocket Informant 2007 last week.) - Sorry, this info seems to be incorrect. If I had read my own quote above it does exclude "free promotion or prize". What's weird though is that it still let me upgrade. My apologies for the originally misleading information.

Here's the screen I got after entering the auth code from the free version of 2007

Didn't have any problems getting a new registration code but since there's no CAB file (seems to offer only an EXE download) I can't install until later today to test it out.

Same here - did this both yesterday and today - only gives $13 discount. :(

Same thing for me, I know I got this after September '07, but all I can get to is the discount screen, not free upgrade!

I trialed this version yesterday - Definitely a big improvement. The touch-scrolling is sweet, but be careful opening contacts with it. I accidentally dialed about 6 or 8 people while just (I thought) looking at their contact record. There are good discussion forums for the software over at WebIS, so I won't talk about bugs here.
A patched version should be out within a few weeks according to their forum.

On pricing, I personally think $16.95 is a very good deal for this upgrade. I don't think I could have upgraded to 2007 (from 2005) for that price before the freebie promotion last month.

I also got the free version however when I entered my information it said I was eligible for the free upgrade and gave me a new key. I downloaded the trial version entered the new key and now it is working. So if you at least got the key just download the trial and enter that key and it should work.

I downloaded the trial, installed it, and entered my key that I had for version 7, and it didn't work. Not sure how to get new key. Clicking on link takes me to site to download version 8 for $13 discount only.

how do you register with the webis. I purchase (for free) from a different website, so webis does not know I exist.

Even if you got it for free, WebIS (not the merchant) sent the key to your registered email address - that email address is your primary identifier for them. Click one of the links above and use that email address and you should be fine. Last month they helped me consolidate several purchases I had made from different email addresses (including an old dead one) into a single account. Don't know if this is automated, but their final email came from regsupport@pockeinformant.com.

I've done that several times (using the same email address as I used to get the free PI) and each time I (and it sounds like many others) just go to page that promts for $13 savings. I may contact pocket informant for help. Thanks.

I received an email from onlineorders@mobihand.com with my activation code. I never received anything from WEBIS.

the email shows I purchased pocket informant 2007 for $0.00, however I click on the "goto the download page" and when I got there I see Pocket Informant 8 is now there. Of course my work is blocking me from getting it but I will have to get it later.

Oh. I really don't see the problem. If you got 2007 for free to begin with, you are not entitled to get a free upgrade to PI8. The link is pretty clear on that, and the OP corrected his post a while ago. You might check Alex's blog on the WebIS site to see why.
