where is program registration held (like resco)?

i'm using PIMBackup, and, with so much flashing to different ROMs, it's a real pain to have to re-register everything.
I just noticed that in PIMBackup you can add folders, so I figured if I could select the right folders that contained all the registration info, I'd save a bunch of time.
i tried backing up the folders in Application Data, but that didn't work.
any ideas?
I use PI Calendar, pTravelAlarm and Resco Exlorer/Pro Photos.
any ideas, thanks
(it isn't so bad with resco's code being short, but PI's is 16 chars. a real pain, especially when i am trying to do it in class :) )

Different programs use different methods, but I believe they use the registry.

but the registry isn't some magical thing.
it's got to be in an actual file somewhere
how else is it actually stored?

no - it's just a registry entry for most software packages. If you use a regeditor to export both hklm and hkcu and search for the software (use notepad2 to open it on your desktop) you can usually find the info. Some will change it in the reg from what you enter, some may be in odd places, but most are in the registry. No other files needed.

I never implied the registry was "some magical thing". As explained above, the registry does not use files, it uses entries. You can export these entries into files that can then be executed to import the previous values into the new and fresh registry. More work than just re-entering the registration codes in my opinion.

i didn't mean to offend.
all i was saying is that it's a computer.
stuff gets stored onto it in binary. so whether it's a registry entry, or a file, the registration is actually stored in binary somewhere.
you'd think you could just copy where ever that binary is. either in a file, or wherever
