whats the best way to have WM's screen shutoff after a call connects so to prevent apps and other functions (eg note taking) from being activated by my face.

Ive tried the Touch InCall app but it really doesnt work... I dont think the light sensor is the right approach. I just want the screen to shutdown once a call connects.

I believe pocketsheild does this....I don't use it but think this is the app others have been taking about when it comes to dimming/shutting off screen when events occur.

What phone, most phones have sensor that shuts screen
off?

S2U2 will do what you want. Just enable Lock In Call.
