pBar

Im surprised I havent seen this mentioned anywhere yet, but I found this on xda. Its another task manager, but for its size and feature set I really havent seen anything that can beat it.

p.s. What I am attaching is just a ppc executable "pbar.exe". I placed it in a folder "\Windows\Program Files\pBar". Once you run it, there is an option to run it on startup, and it automatically creates a shortcut in your startup folder that points to the location you ran it from (that is why I placed it in "\Windows\Program Files\pBar").

haven't installed....but what does it do?

The closest task manager i can compare it to is inclose mobile. But instead of being over 1mb, it is 45k. I have found it to be comparable to vBar in speed and size, but it looks much nicer and can include exclusion lists, add time, and add a wisbarlite style battery meter across the top.

I am using this with calendar+ and the 2 palm messaging app today plugins on the new Telecom 2.2 rom and my system has never run better. I honestly see absolutely no slowdown with this program.

I did change some settings in it, such as tap = close, hold = menu, and gesture = minimize (I really just push the OK hard button). I also removed the battery bar (using lvmTopBatt), and have removed the menu button (since I can get to it using a tap and hold). It also has a shortcut menu if you choose to use it where you can stick your favorite apps, and have a little launcher. At 45kb, it is hard to beat.

I tried it, and kind of like it but it covers up volume icon....no biggie. But the corner of the icon showing :D I don't like. I like a clean device and well that's an eye sore. To bad its not adjustable. The interface is alittle harder to learn at first but u pick up quick on what does what. I love magic button myself, only drawback is it doesn't work well with all themes, so in its place I have been using the HTC X Task Manager. Its worked well with all my themes so far :D Thanks for posting.

Are you talking about the little triangle button covering the volume? If that is the button that is blocking, it can be removed. I took it away on my 6700, and nothing is blocked at all.

Go to the settings menu. Under the general tab, select 'None' for 'Popup', and under the indicator tab I chose 'None' for Main number and Sub number (since the clock is already there for aku2.2).

Awww much better, maybe I can change the little arrow to something else it, and center it more. :D But I did like the date under the time idea. And in portrait it seems you have to hit one spot exactly to pop up the menu.
