Win 7 64 Ultimate- WMDC not working.

-->

Win 7 64 Ultimate- WMDC not working
Windows Mobile Device Center will not detect my phone. Under the device manager the Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter has an exclamation point and states "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"

I have downloaded all the drivers and am looking for any input on resolving this issue.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

right click the driver, uninstall it, plug your phone in, it should try to redownload the driver.

go to the microsoft web site and do a search for windows 7 mobile sync. you will have to download two files one is to check that windows is genuine the other is the mobile sync. make sure its for 64bit if thats what you got

You could try going to settings>connections>usb to pc> uncheck "Enable faster data synchronization"

Re: Win 7 64 Ultimate- WMDC not working.

I had exactly this error message with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. No amount of uninstall and reinstall worked. I solved the problem by disabling Windows Defender. Instead I use avast! and Spybot (both free). It seems that 3rd party security software conflicts less with Microsoft that Microsoft's own.
