Is there a GPS-aware Tokyo Map App that works on HTC Diamond?

I'm planning to go to Japan soon and will be walking around Tokyo for the first time and it would be nice if I could use a GPS app on my phone that doesn't use data (Not Google Maps etc.). I have a Garmin Nuvi, but I don't think there are any English language maps of Tokyo for my GPS device.
Is there anything available for Windows Mobile?

First check and see if you can get service there because unless you get a signal I don't think gps will work.
You would have to disable agps completely if you can't get a cellular signal and I'm not sure if gps will function on the diamond without it.
You may just have to settle for maps that could be saved to your diamond's memory for reference. :dontknow:

Even if i could get service, it would be too expensive to use. I will turn off the radio for cellular service when I arrive to save battery and eliminate chance of expensive roaming charges.
The GPS is supposed to work without a cell signal. Having a cell signal just speeds up getting a lock and estimating roughly where you are if you lose satellite lock.

I haven't found any GPS-aware maps to save to the phone memory. That's what I'm looking for.

Have you tried getting a gps lock with your radio off?

Also, I'm talking about using data not talking on the phone. I think it would be worth it to check with your carrier and see how much you would be charged for accessing data. I know talking on your phone would cost a fortune. ;)

I know you meant data. Roaming data in foreign countries is super expensive also and they charge for every kilobyte.

The only GPS apps I have are Google and Bing, so those services need an internet connection to download the map data. The GPS should work if I had locally stored maps saved on the device.

Sprint has an international data package for like 60 a month which can be prorated for your time length. Also gps works fine without a cellular signal
