Lumen. The Pocket PC Muzik Player...!

What is it?

Lumen is the ultimate music player for the Windows Mobile platform. It features a rich graphical user interface, as well as an extremely easy to use navigation system. It just enables you to enjoy your favorite songs, and forget the rest.

How does it work?

Lumen is designed to work seamlessly with current technologies. It means that you can easily sync and transfer your music from Apple iTunes, and listen to them on your device. The only thing you have to do is to select an existing playlist, and push the "Sync" button. The Bridge software, which cares about the whole syncing process, knows everything about your music. So if you have the album artwork or lyrics for a given song, it transfers them automatically.

What devices does it work on?

It works on virtually any Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device. Please note, that the landscape orientation and square screens are not supported yet.

Features

Formats MP3, AAC, WMA. Every song must be unDRM-ed.

Controls

It's possible with touch-dragging Lists, and controls. Smartphone version will use the D-pad.

Screens

Lumen supports only portrait orientation 240*320 displays in the current phase of development.

Sync

Select an iTunes playlist in the Bridge software, and push the Sync button. Your music starts to transfer through ActiveSync.

Music-Over-The-Air

Connect to your desktop PC, and use its iTunes library like you synced it.

Thanks, it definately looks cool but the last time I checked (yesterday), Lumen was still in the "proof of concept" stage, and actually does not play any music yet.

I see nothing about streaming or using .pls files or FLAC. I'll stick with GSPlayer.

@conchchowder read a little more carefully, app doesnt play any music yet, just user interface which is awesome.

I DID read closely...I read the entire story here and went to the page as well...I still didn't READ of any support for FLAC (intended) or the support of .pls files (intended). I wouldn't CONSIDER using the ULTIMATE interface if it didn't support those features when it is RELEASED. I will stick to my GSPlayer.

Get my point NOW?

This does look really cool, especially because all my music is in aac aand I primarily use itunes - can't wait until it acutally plays music

I downloaded the little trial thingy, and it was pretty nice. I've been using the HTC Audio Manager because of it's large buttons, but I primarily listen to my music in the car, and this is much more "one-handed" than HTC Audio Manager. (i.e. Finger Scrolling)

Too bad the program has been nothing more than a demo for like 8 or 9 months. I wonder if it is even still under development.

I would rather it worked with WMP10 and upwards with a remote control function via bluetooth. iTunes doesnt have that many features and it keeps trying to make me buy music. ](*,)Yeah, right!
