My GPS won't lock with this new Bing. I know it's not my phone's fault, because Google Maps gets GPS locks in like 3 seconds. is there any way to fix this?

lol, yet another "oh, there are actually places/people outside the US?" product. So sad; come on, M$; do it properly, for once.

No...Microsoft just doesn't like Canadians. :evil4:

In the settings section, you can change the gps device settings (gps intermediate driver, com 1, com 2, etc) . Maybe messing around with that will help.

Yeah, I wonder why the app seems so slow to respond compared to the older ones. If I navigate away from the screen (to say, check a message), going back to it seems to take 5+ seconds for the window to show up!
Granted, once the display is up and running, everything works great and rather smoothly (doesn't miss a turn and reroutes off route instantly), but the time it takes to launch the screen to the foreground seems awfully delayed. Hopefully this is only because of the "beta" status, and it will be fixed soon...

I got mine to work yesterday, but today I have the same problem.

I tried to mess with the same settings and still no luck. Any other suggestions instead of removing and re-installing?

Re: bing mobile updated now with turn by turn directions

Tried this, and for free is good. But I'm keeping Telenav (even though it's $10 a month) because

1) Bing doesn't tell you the "next turn" when it's right on top of your current one (important to not miss a turn in city driving)
2) Telenav gives a better route (Bing sent me on a highway when an obvious short cut existed)
3) Bing grabs a chunk of about 5MB of memory and won't let it go even when it exits (but doesn't seem to grab any more if you restart it again)
4) I like Telenav's voice better (I know, personal preference) but I do wish I could adjust the volume of it
5) I like the screen that Telenav uses better (especially the direction going on top of screen instead of North)

Just my opinion. To some, it may not be worth the extra $10 a month
