Well Coming From A Agile.Messenger User..Agile Is A Pretty Solid App..Onlii.Thing Is You Have To Pay..I Pay 11 Or 12 Bucks For 3 Months Of Use And By Far Has Out.Performed Aniiothers that i Brought/Used...As Well As Palringo..Jst Make Sure You Have A Texxting Plan Jst In Case...Becuase More Than Likii You Will Get Hit With Charges Unless App States Other.Wise...Jst Hope My 2cents Can Be Any Help...

theres a monthly fee for agile??

Sprints700wx 11-14-2007 03:14 AM

Theres Is .Although There Was One Piont Where It Was Free..But..Either You Buy It For I Think Its 45 Or 50 Bucks And Use It Without Anii.Monthly FEE Ever.. Then Theres Another Option Where You Pay 11/12 Bucks For 3 Months...There Is A Trial Version Though...Give It A Try...Oonly You Will Be able to Decide If Its Worth It Or Not

Palringo destroys all, in speed, mem usage, and the fact that it reconnects EVERY time, after every call and text and such.... this is what i hated about the others, they dont stay connected 24/7... Palringo is free, lets you do multi im clients like others, and even has image transfer like the expensive ones, you really cant go wrong there... im bout to try slick im, just to test it out...

how does the power saving mode work in palringo?....all the other programs killed my battery...only verichat saved my battery with sms so far..

TheDude1120 11-14-2007 08:52 PM

Palringo Is Ok, But Is Kinda Annoying. You Cant Change Your Font Or Have Smileys, Also You Can Only Have One Aim Convo At A Time, Once U Close The Window The Convo Is Gone, It Doesnt Save.

I'm also curious about potential battery-saving tweaks with Palringo. I'm not a regular user of any IM/chat services, but I downloaded this one just to try it out after what others have said about it here. I had a little chat with the AI "Sam", left the app running in the background, and watched my device lose 50% of the battery in less than 3 hours. Needless to say, I've uninstalled it. Too power-hungry for me.

i bought agile messenger and its worked great...no problems at all :)

gxnext 11-15-2007 09:59 PM

verichat, was awsome when it worked... it still works sometimes only its out of biz now :( palringo on the other hand is free and works great ...which was never really a option previously... but is in beta... and slick is decent ... looks really cheap to me tho for some reason... but its free too and in beta. i haven't used slick that much tho because i'm so satisfied with palringo. and you can remove it off the today screen by deleting the todayicon.dll and the update.dll, but without the update.dll the software won't automatically update... so you might wanna just move the update.dll somewhere else until you need it

leetsauce 11-15-2007 11:36 PM

I like Slick, but between the two I would choose Agile.

@gxnext: Excuse me for my ignorance, but what was so good about Verichat? I've never used it, so I don't have any idea of what it's like, but so many seem to hold Verichat with such acclaim. Was it really as good as people say it was?

palringo server

i tried palringo and thought it was pretty cool. . the only drawback i saw in my short time testing it was that you (the user) could not delete your message history (at least that's how it was). has that changed? is the user able to go in and clean up the folders? i wasn't crazy about the idea of not being able to manage data sent and received.

Hello

I’m afraid you can’t delete message history. The messages are securely stored on our servers for at least a month and will be deleted if and when we need to after that.

If you have any further queries check out our forum forum.palringo.com or contact us at support@palringo.com.

Kind Regards,

Your Palringo Support Team

And a question - anybody know if Palringo uses data or SMS to send messages back and forth? I have unlimited data but no SMS on my plan, so...

divxrippimp 11-18-2007 12:22 AM

It uses data... It connects to the palringo servers, then from there connects to the clients... not sms
