touch diamond can, but touch pro 2 cant?

im a cable guy, and the whole paperwork thing is now web based.
im transferring to a different system, and they are telling me that it doesnt work on the touch pro 2, so they want to take away my tp2 and give me a diamond.

is there anything that a stock diamond can do that a stock tp2 cant?
java or flash or something?
i want to keep my tp2

The hardware is so similar, I would imagine there is nothing other than resolution which would restrict a program to the diamond. Both phones ship with windows mobile 6.1, so not much difference there. If it's web-based, do you have to use a special browser or something? Both phones also ship with opera and you could install the same version on either phone.

exactly! Tell them if it's web based at least let you try the several browsers you can use. (Opera, IE, Skyfire)

if it's a special app that uses the web, then maybe it only runs correctly on VGA resolution (diamond). On a wvga devices, the screen would be chopped. That's my only guess as to why something wouldn't work on the tp2, but does for the diamond...

Perhaps you can explain to us what exactly you'd be running? If you're just opening web pages in a mobile browser, it should work. If it's an app that uses a web portal, there could be problems...

i believe there is a program floating around here somewhere that lets you use vga software on a wvga screen (in think it was intended for games but i dont see a problem)

apperantly they dont even use phones

i got a hold of north Carolina dispatch, and they said everything is on laptops.
im assuming south carolina shouldn't be much different
but that still makes no sense because they want to give a diamond to one of the other techs, even though he owns his tp2.
so i dont know.

maybe they just want to tell everyone they give their employees diamonds. without telling everyone a diamond is a phone..

Re: touch diamond can, but touch pro 2 cant?

ok, so...

the problem is with juniper networks, and I&R software.

first of all after installin I&R the web doesnt work at all.
instead of tryin to dial #777 it dials 9, 001, 0 #777
i think thats the country code and all that stuff
but what does it dial all that i have no idea
after tryin it says the answering modem has disconnected. check settings blah blah.
than can be fixed though, somehow

after thats fixed, the problem is with the juniper networks, it doesnt connect, and if you hit check compatability
it says browser not compatable, check active x and java i think it was

any ideas?

everything works on an original touch pro on sprint, and a verizon diamond

EDIT: so as of now, the juniper networks website says that javascript is disabled
from my understanding its not, but if i can be, how do i enable it?

Re: touch diamond can, but touch pro 2 cant?

ok, and yes this deserves another post

heres the procedure

1 login with or credentials via internet explorer
2 hit start client in the browser
3 broswer runs a script that opens the actual vpn client
4 we run the app that does what we need

we never get to step 3, the browser is unable to trigger the client
it just stays on the "please wait" screen forever
and like i said if i hit check compatability it says javascript disabled
