I found QuickMenu by building it into my WM6 Kitchen ROM. I don't think most people realize how cool this program is. The more I see what it can do and how it does it, the more I like it. I dumped all the other X button and Task managers 'cause this does what I need the way I like it.
1. Saves space on the Top Bar. Doesn't clutter it up.
2. Allows X button to close and minimize, with short or long taps.
3. Makes use of the (normally) wasted Windows icon, to access a second list of Start Menu functions/programs, or to toggle active programs. (Long press=Active Next)
4. 2nd Start Menu is more powerful, flexible, moves up-down, etc.
5. Adds the Hibernate (reclaim memory) command mentioned previously, plus suspend and reboot.
6. Many more options for launching, keyed program closing, commands, etc.

This is the one for me. Ought to be at the Top of the list of Task Managers in the Kitchen, IMO.

Thanks for making us aware of this program.

I am running Wktask and Quickmenu. is there a need for Wktask anymore? if not, what settings should I use to replace Wktask?
thanks.

No, what Wktask does its all included in quickmenu, so you dont need them both.

Unless I missed it, QuickMenu doesn't put windows on the top taskbar so you can click on them to switch back and forth. If you like this feature then you will need to keep Wktask on.

Alright, loaded it on my Touch, after I do a soft reset I keep getting "load qmenubtn.dll failed! Please resetup this program and try again." Have to hit ok twice to clear it. I ran the .cab file, got error. I uninstalled the .cab and created the QuickMenu folder in /program files directory and same error. Any clues?

Thx

Tap and hold in the upper right hand corner and you can select battery and memory to display.

You are correct. The only place QuickMenu shows the running programs is if you click on the start menu.

Can someone explain the magic of the "hibernation" and how that action frees up memory? I too live the utility and find every single time I run the hibernation over and over it keeps finding more memory to free up. Even if done after a reboot right away.

Is there a way to add the OEM START symbol next to the "start"? Mine shows the mustard colored "Q"
