WinMo build 23518 includes Threaded Email in POutlook!
 

I am doing a little dance over here over the new "threaded email" feature in Pocket Outlook in the 23518 build. I have been desperately wanting MS to implement that feature in Pocket Outlook (or trying to find a replacement for POutlook that had that feature -- there aren't any) for YEARS now and they finally did it! This is a huge improvement for me as I sort my regular grouped/threaded by conversation and this finally allows me to have the inbox on my phone sorted the same way. Seriously like 500% improvement in phone inbox usability for me. Wooooo!!! I am so happy to see MS finally improving the basic PIM applications in WinMo after all these years of stagnation.

Hopefully this is a sign of more improvements to come -- maybe they'll add colored categories to the Calendar application next so all those colored categories I have assigned in Outlook 2007 won't be completely useless when I switch to my mobile anymore. :P

It wouldn't look like much in a screenshot as the implementation is very subtle: when you have "sort by conversation" enabled you will only see the most recent email in each thread in your inbox, but the envelope icon to the left will be a stack of envelopes instead. If you open that item it will show you a list of all of the items in that thread. What's great about this is that from the top level you can select/move/delete the entire thread as a group, which is great for keeping your inbox clean/organized. That's how I manage my Outlook inbox -- I leave threads in the inbox until the task/conversation is "complete" and then I move the whole thread into a subfolder. (I even have Outlook set to put my sent items in the Inbox so my replies stay with the thread/conversation they're associated with... makes it way easier to keep track of what I've already responded to and when I'm waiting on a reply from someone else)

now if only they would let us have full html emails in email with out having to tell it to download that would be lovely
it's sad it took them this long to make updates to outlook but windows mobile phones are supposed to be used for business :-\
