Porting Iphone Apps to Windows Mobile

Hi guys, I'm very new to this so please don't jump on me if this sounds like a crazy question.

There are so many talented people on this website. That made programs that blow my mind away. ( IE ) S2U2, S2P, Sirius radio cab, I could just make a long list things. And I even saw that someone ported Android .

I love my Touch Pro 2. Its a great phone. But when I do see those Iphone apps. They drive me up the wall some times. My real question is this.

Is there any way to port Iphone apps to Windows Mobile ?

Thanks guys.

Not directly as far as I am aware. Lots of people are working on doing just that. But the thing is finding someone porting the exact app you want isn't likely.

Porting an app from the iPhone to Windows Mobile would require the source code which in the case of Iphone apps are largely proprietary, so the author would need to feel that the profit in doing so would be worth the programming effort which in the case of Windows mobile market share and trouble porting to so many varied devices is unlikely. The reason the iPhone has attracted so many developers is the fact that the iPhone has such a large market share and you can be sure that the app will run on all iPhones as the hardware and software is tightly controlled by Apple. In contrast Windows Mobile runs on a wide variety of hardware platforms with different processors, screen sizes and a whole host of other variables that make development a bit more complex.

so in short, you can't port the exact program but a lot of times you can find a clone program or the one you want to port.

Too bad someone couldn't create an emulator that runs good, similar to Wine in Linux to run Windows apps.

I hadn't thought of that, that's a really good idea, I don't see why that couldn't be done...
