Sprint Mobile Email

Sprint Mobile Email by 7systems. Put this url in your sprint PPC and you should be able to download and install to the device. I have not successfully gotten this to work on my Apache w/ WM6 R0 yet. I have gotten my free yahoo and my aim email accounts to work on my Mogul and i expect the others to work with no problems. It seems that you can only setup one email account. Post back your success and problems. Good luck

This should give you access to AOL, AIM, Yahoo, gmail, and other pop access. I hope we can get this working on all sprint PPCs.

What exactly does this do?

I already have my Sprint e-mail as a POP3 account.

Big D5 10-21-2007 10:22 AM

I am still testing this now but this appears to be direct push email from Sprint. Very cool, no HTML tho :(

Update: Turned off pop mail on my gmail and sent a test message from my other mail account, it went through so this is indeed push mail but it only pushes every 15 minutes, that's the minimum setting. But free push mail is free push mail still very nice.

GaTo 10-21-2007 09:21 PM

doesn't this kill your battery?

mail2web is free and pushes when email is received.

greatest thing ever invented IMO. thats one thing that never gets neglected when i hard reset. mail2web is key.

holo 10-21-2007 10:05 PM

if it 'pushes' every 15min - that's not a push - that's checking every 15min

Is mail2web direct push just for their e-mail or for all your POP3/IMAPs?

Pibe38 10-21-2007 10:12 PM

It's for their e-mail. But you can forward all your other addresses to it, they even have an aggregator to help you with it.

Stop by the General Discussion forum, there's a thread with a tutorial and LOTS of info on mail2web there.

Big D5 10-22-2007 09:51 PM

I have, for a long time and still do live by mail2web as well but I am digging this set up as well. Works well and you can set up additional push partners I have outlook setup with mail2web and this set up with my gmail that I use for work. Now I can turn off my gmail after work and still get my fun stuff from mail2web. Best of all its all sent to me through push mail.

sbello81 10-23-2007 02:09 AM

yeah, i don't like it. i can set up my own pull email if i want it. emoze was the only awesome free push email, but it had too many bugs.

lattisimo 10-23-2007 02:20 PM

This really has appeal if you have a free yahoo account you want to access. well, at least that is the reason i like it.

bushd 10-26-2007 02:42 PM

Want to access it? If you just insert your email in the email setup and tell it to automatically find settings it will work. Same for most other types of free based email. The only bump I've run into is my schools secured things and even then its only problematic using the outgoing which thats server side.

Also, to get SPCS mail you don't need to have them activate it by calling in. You need to go in and set your own password online in your SPCS account. Go into my online tools, then PCS Mail, then Settings and Preferences, then Setup and set your password and viola! None of this needing to call them to get it setup business.

Mail2Web is the best ever. I use it as an activesync backup for contacts, calendar and email. Its the best for hard resets because I hate how PC Activesync works.

I've just installed Sprint Mobile Email and setting upmy email accounts with it. Is it FREE service? When I set up, I am asked to register my mobile number and I am wondering whether I will be charged by using this Sprint Mobile email. Please advise.

seeneed4speed 11-01-2007 02:52 AM

the app is free so there will never be a charge, however the only windows based device sprint will support for sprint mobile email will be the touch, for the time being. Once a content manager is available on the wm6 platform that may be a different story.

drurc8 11-01-2007 10:49 AM

I installed this app on mogul and it works just fine. I don't think it is a Push email because I tested by sending email to my email account that I set up on Sprint Mobile Email,it took about 10-15 minutes to receive email. What say you?

I installed this also.. And I kept waiting for my personal folders to show up, but they didn't. Great find though.

Priest 11-14-2007 12:45 AM

Is there a way to set up more than one email account using this? So far I've set up one email account (hotmail) and it doesn't seem much different than the standard email program that comes with the mogul.

biggggant 11-15-2007 01:39 AM

bacspasm 11-15-2007 02:07 AM

Seems to be working and is easy to set up. I was having some problems with the IMAP settings with GMAIL so this seems to show all the emails.

TEXAS ANGLER 11-27-2007 12:43 AM

I Had Two Email Accounts Set Up On My Mogul..does Anyone Know How To Remove An Account Once It's No Longer In Use?

monkeyboy 12-05-2007 05:33 PM

I thought I read somewhere that this Sprint Mobile Email app included on the Touch also handles Calendar functions and Calendar sync. Is that true ? How well does it work ? Will it do OTA (over the air) Calendar syncing ?

Thanks.

hotbyz168 12-05-2007 06:55 PM

parrott84 12-19-2007 09:27 PM

how is this different then setting up an account in outlook? My phone checks for my yahoo and gmail accounts every 15min to once a day depending. Why use Sprint email instead of outlook?

riironman 01-06-2008 07:49 PM

ok...another sprint mobile email thread

I am totally confused on this application. How is this better than the poutlook we have now? Will this save battery life? and is it HTML? I also use the push hotmail application from windows live. I have 2 aol email addy's checking every 15 minutes and my hotmail is push. so if someone is using sprint mobile email please give me the cons and pros. I am not sure how this even works...oh the questions...lol
