Does Opera Mini still require Java? Couldn't stand that.

Opera Mini still runs through Java, but the .cab files that are available install Java, Opera Mini, authorize the use of the internet so you never have to, and install an Opera Mini shortcut ... makes it seamless and transparent and does is all with one .cab installation. Very painless.

For everyday use, I use Opera Mini, if I come across a site that is more complicated, I use Opera 10 Mobile, or the new skyfire.

Tried Netflix and it doesn't work. It doesn't allow you to use the device as a storage for the extra files that netflix and possibly HULU need.

Here is a quote from a tech at the skyfire support site:

Local application storage for either Silverlight or Flash is unfortunately a hairy issue that we do not support yet.
We know what needs to be done to support it, but this is a bigger effort.

Thanks, R.

With the complications it seems to have all the time, I use skyfire for movie or video only and opera for downloads and web browsing.

No problems here that way :)

I don't know about this Skyfire. I've used and loved skyfire until I recently installed it and read the privacy statement. WOW! I'm not so sure I would ever send personal data using it. Everything is routed through their servers and much of that data monitored, tracked and recorded. Am I being paranoid or is this a legitimate concern? Read it and see. I tried switching to Opera, but it doesn't Youtube? What to do... What to do...

umm, any free service will track the same stats that skyfire does. the only real risk is a skyfire employee watching a browsing session. but that goes for any ISP too. ;)

I really hate it now. Connection errors all the time and if it connects it takes forever to load a page. I want to punch skyfire in the face.

i agree something is different with the connection lately. it seams that skyfire is preventing the switch back to evdo after a sms toggles to 1x.
