Re: Opera Mobile 10 and full sites (paypal)

The Google gave me the answer:

In the address bar, type in about:config
scroll down on the page to item User Agent and click on it.
It says Spoof user agent ID

1 is Opera Mobile
2 is firefox
3 is desktop IE 6

Save

Re: Opera Mobile 10 and full sites (paypal)

google paypal and click on the non mobile link from google. It will send you to the full site from there. Hope this helps. Once you get to the full site just bookmark for next time and you will not run into this problem again.

Re: Opera Mobile 10 and full sites (paypal)

If that doesn't work you can also try this.

1) In the browser enter "Opera:Config" with out the " 's to load the Preferences Editor
2) Select User Agent and change the value to 3 and press save.
3) Select User Pref, scroll down and find Custom User-Agent and type this exactly.
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0)
4) Scroll down further and press save.
5) Exit Opera Mobile and restart your device.

Re: Opera Mobile 10 and full sites (paypal)

Using opera mobile beta releases to handle all your web browsing needs is like trying to eat soup with a fork.](*,)

Try:
Opera mobile Build 15746
Iris 1.9.1
JuggaloX Flash 3.1
(post #5 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=82789)
and skyfire
to handle all your mobile web browsing needs

This is the best there is until someone rips a good release of opera mobile 10 / flash 10 from a phone.

Step 1: Set a custom user agent string
This tells websites what kind of device you are using to browse the site (desktop computer, smartphone, etc).
Goto opera:config -> User Prefs -> Custom User-Agent
Find a desktop user agent string, type it in, and save. I'm using the one from my Firefox browser on my home desktop (it can be found by clicking Help -> About Mozilla Firefox). Mine looks like this:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

You can use whatever string you can find that works. I've even seen people use an iPhone user agent to get iPhone versions of websites.

Step 2: Spoof a user agent ID
This tells websites what client you are using.
Goto opera:config -> User Agent -> Spoof User Agent ID
Type in the number corresponding to a browser to identify as that browser
Global values:
1 = Opera
2 = Mozilla
3 = Internet Explorer
Site-specific values:
4 = Mozilla, Opera not mentioned
5 = Internet Explorer, Opera not mentioned

Don't forget to save. I have mine set to 2, so websites think I'm using Firefox

Step 3: Set custom HTTP_Accept parameters
This one is hard to explain, but it basically tells the website which versions (i.e. desktop or mobile) are acceptable for viewing.
Goto opera:config -> Network -> HTTP Accept

Type this in exactly:

text/html, application/xml;q=0.9, application/xhtml+xml, application/x-obml2d, multipart/mixed, image/png, image/jpeg, image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, */*;q=0.1

Please note that this is just the default entry minus the one element that allows for mobile/wap viewing.

Also in the Network section, go to HostName Expansion Prefix and delete wap from the list. Remember to save. Exit the browser and everything should work like a desktop from now on! You can go to Whats My User Agent? to check and see if everything is right.
I did all this and it didn't work until I went into

opera:config / User prefs

Scroll down to "UAProf URL Enabled" and uncheck this (remove the tick)

Restart opera, and that should do it.

EDIT: Crap that doesn't work for opera mobile 10, try this string

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)

Oh crap, I guess I was using 9.

I downloaded a fresh copy of opera mobile 10 and used this user agent string.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)

works for B of A, but not paypal, let me mess with it some more

EDIT: added this text and it worked for paypal

Goto opera:config -> Network -> HTTP Accept (or search "Accept")

Type this in exactly:

text/html, application/xml;q=0.9, application/xhtml+xml, application/x-obml2d, multipart/mixed, image/png, image/jpeg, image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, */*;q=0.1

No luck tried your settings saved and restarted Opera 10. BOA full website basically just refreshes the home page after entering the login and hitting submit button.

on your phone, goto

Whats My User Agent?

and paste everything under "The Full Header Sent by Your Browser is"

look for anything that says "wap" or "mobile" or "opera" and you need to change that setting.

Thx for the advice... now able to get into BOA! New problem now grrr... cant get into https://creditcards.citi.com/

Going to that URL in Opera 9 and 10 displays white blank page. Tried other ways like the citi home page but now same issue as BOA... enter id hit submit and nothing!

Hmm...don't know what to tell you on that site, I don't have a citibank acct, went to the site on opera mini and mobile 10, put in a fake name and pass and they both redirected me to a page telling me that the info was incorrect.
