Google Maps FIXED updated again (3.3.1 #0)
 

Google Maps has been updated from 3.3.0 to 3.3.1 and fixes the tower based location as well as the layers crash for people.

also theres a pc sync option and favs are stars on the map, or atleast the version im using. steetview also seems updated, lots more "street view" options in my area.

I was hoping they would be quick to fix this. I use the layers quite a bit. Thanks for the heads up.

It seems as though tower based location is a little different in this version, at least for me. It detects me as 24000 meters within my location where as all the previous versions detected me within 700 meters of my location. So it's a bit more.....generalized I guess. I don't like it.

Very useful for me! We just traveled from NC to MS to KY to IN to VA back to NC and it was much needed. We did use the navigation but we wanted to see exactly where we were and what was ahead. Next time maybe it will be quicker locating us and closer to our location. It had a slight lag in following us and finding us at first.

Crashes every time I ask it to enable GPS, back to the older version :(

Triangulation (Tower Mode) will never be as good as GPS.

You have a TP2. Why the frak are you using the cell tower locationing? And is that center location something of an extremely high cell site with incredible coverage?

No one is suggesting it is or it should.

We just want "Tower Mode" in 3.3 to be as good as 3.2.1! So far, if you're on Sprint/Telus upgrading is a disaster.

Is there a registry edit needed to make the tower lock accurate on Sprint.

3.2.1 works fine (1000 meters +/-) but 3.3.1 is like 43000 meters.

I understand this works ok on verizon but still not on sprint.

I'm on Energy ROM.

I just got my TP replaces with a TP2, and the first thing I thre on here was Google Maps. So far, my TP2 seems unable to find GPS Satellites, and it gives me My Location within 95,000 meters! The dot is somewhere in Minnesota, and I live in St. Louis, MO.

Am I doing something wrong here?!

go to settings on google maps and click on gps on

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, that was the first thing I did after installing the program. It says that my GPS is on, but still fails to"Locate GPS Satellites..."

with 4 sats, it gave my location within 30 meters. it wasn't getting any sats at first launch and after i logged in and it synced my stars, it located me.

even with this new version every time i hit the blue button to update my location it crashes. idk why its doing that
