Disable Physical Keyboard on Sprint Touch Pro

I am wanting a cab or a registry file that will disable the physical keyboard so that it no longer works. I am trying to get my phone replaced and I have the keyboard go out before but now it wont do it again which would be great but I am ready to move on. I want the file so I can take it to the sprint store and get a Hero(which I can, it's on the list now! ). So I am trying to make it appear like this TP has the same issue as 99.9% other touch pros and my previous 2 other TP's. To clarify: I want to disable the PHYSICAL keyboard not the software keyboard.

I didn't put this under "cab style registry edits" because he requires the registry changes to be provided and he converts to a cab. This is different because I dont know the files to change.

I'm not scamming sprint. The keyboard really is f'd. It stops working for 5-6hours at a time but starts working randomly. I took it to Sprint store last night and it wasn't working before I got there but she pressed all the keys like a thousand times and then the phone went crazy and typed like 300 characters and started working. It did this to me a few weeks back and then it spazzed out and started working. I am just trying to have it not work so they can see it not work. Thats all.

This method will not work, the keyboard is more than a driver.

stop trying to scam sprint. people like you are the reason why i have to drive to the store to get my phone replaced instead of over the phone. you abuse the system AND are stealing. i sencirly hope you end up being caught.
edit: ur lucky my hardware kb is broken or i would write such a rant

+2 on this - this is the reason Sprint made their deductible from $50 to $100 on smartphones is because of scamming like this... too many people doing it, making Sprint lose money so they charge the customers more to make up for it.

+3 on this, and I clicked the thanks button for him for posting this (the author of the above quoted text, NOT the OP) and all the others agreeing.
Seriously OP, you are scamming. The TEP was put in place to take care of legitimate customers having legitimate issues with their devices. The more people take advantage of it, the harder it makes it for us with legit claims to get something done.

Geezzz.. just save up your allowance or get your mommy to go buy you a new phone.

Here's some simple steps to help you out:
1. Take stock rom (dump it to the visual kitchen),
2. Modify the rom by adding or removing certain files to add or remove certain functionalities.
3. Then build the rom using the kitchen.
4. Flash moddified stock rom to phone.
Enjoy customizing your phone.

First of all, what you are proposing is fraud, asshat. Secondly, any kind of registry edit you do will be erased on a hard reset, which they usually do when you bring in your phone for service or repair.

wow, i didn't know asshat was allowed on here. but i like it lol.

and i was about to say the exact same thing, a hard reset will literally reset the rom you are running to stock. how about this, try flashing a stock rom and then whatever it is that you want to run. it might just fix your problem. however we don't really condone scamming our carriers as it tends to come back and bite us in the asshat. (ie. higher deductibles on claims)

This was actually done to "compete" with other carriers...but yes if you want to get your phone replaced throw it on the ground...drop it off your house...have your big friend sit on it...whats the point of tweaking it to make it now work when there are so many other things you can do...

Re: Disable Physical Keyboard on Sprint Touch Pro

idk about deductables but my vzw bill was only like 89 bucks for a bran new phone...
i would like to add this:

if you do manage to find a cab to do what you request. the person at the store will say, "Did you hard reset" and you will say, "No" they will then tell you to try a hard reset and if that doesnt fix the problem bring it in, so you will just be in the same boat but you just lost all your settings and whatnot. Ive called my carrier before about small problems and there answer is "hard reset and see if the problem is still there"

As usual, the truth works the best. If you explain to them that it occasionally does it and sometimes it works, they shouldn't have any reason to not believe you. I've had spotty issues happen to many devices, not just phones, and in all cases, it worked fine. If you try to disable it somehow and your plan gets foiled, trying to explain the truth won't work at that stage and your account may be noted for the attempt.
