Change location of ringtones
Change location of ringtones:
You can change the location where WM5 will look for ringtones by adjusting the following key (example given is for ringtones placed on the Storage Card root folder) HKCU\ControlPanel\Sound\Categories\Ring\Directory = "\Storage Card\" (REG_SZ string, no quotes) The default location may be "\Windows\" or "\Windows\Rings\" depending on your Device provider |
can you create a cab file to do this so that wm5 looks for my ringtones on my storage card so that I can save space... p.s. will this mess up the rings or make them choppy...

yes sir I could do that for you. and so its been said it may delay the ring but I haven't tried it....let me know if u want that. ;)

oops
i messed up and changed the location to the storage card but how do i set the ringtones i have on the card?....how would i go about puttin it back the way it was?....please help my phone is not ringing
|
change the the location back to windows/ringtones and u should be set.
|
when i did this the ringtone would only play if the phone was on.
If off it would just vibrate nomatter what settings i tried. I think there is a 3 second delay before the phone reads the sd card so by then the ringtone is too late |
I want to save them to my Rom, but can't find the keys. I only have HKLM\ControlPanel\Sound. I don't have the Catagories or Ring keys. Shoudl I create them?

Backup to ur rom?
But ur looking in the wrong key, its HKCU not HKLM ;) ~Mike |
I have the hack to view my Extended ROM, so I want to move some of my ringtones there. But actually I was looking and all the Ringtones I have add up to 10mb, so I don't think I'll be moving them to EXT_rom.....
