after doing all the tweaks listed on the first page opera now takes almost a minute to boot . . . what's that all about?

Installed Opera 9.5 Build 15445 on my Vogue along with flashlite and it does not work. Going to revert back to previous version

i moved the cache back to the internal memory and it still has an extremely slow load time -- what other settings would have caused this?

i did all of these (from pkny):


Turbo mode: checked
smooth scrolling: Checked
tab increase: 7
Automatic Ram cache: checked
First update delay: 0
Cache Directory4: changed to my sd card location example "\storage card\cache"
then i would set the cache size to 10mb in the settings menue

What is causing my Opera 9.5 to start up on it's own????

I can't close it, it will just start up again...

If I let it, it just keeps cycling the screen on and off while in standby mode. Weird.

argh. i'm frustrated now -- it takes 30-40 seconds to start up now

I did all the tweaks except for storage card cache. I clean out the Opera cache regularly with MemMaid. Works fine. Seems faster. Launch time about the same. (I live on the outskirts of Tucson where I get 1X more than I get EVDO.)

Now, about Adblock... Do you copy that whole long list of *.NAME.* items into the Windows/Opera folder? Or am I missing something easier and simpler than that? I've DLed and copied the list to a notepad file but it seems like a lot of text!

If you added the addblock file, that's making it slow. just delete it. It says right there in all those links that adding the adblock will make for a slower startup. I generally don't close opera (need to something with all that ram) so "startup" is a one time thing until the next soft reset.

What's the default for the cache dir4 not sure if I like it going to my storage card might change it back
