1. Your pocket internet explorer (PIE) is identified as a mobile browser and not a desktop version like IE 6. There are a few threads out there that explain how to change this "identity" so it appears to the websites as if you are surfing from a desktop browser. There are programs that'll do this for you as well (PIEplus) 2. The website is using Macromedia Flash version 8 or 9. Since the latest available to the windows mobile device is version 7 and not compatible with websites running flash versions 8 or 9, they may tell you to upgrade (even though you can't). Quote:

we both have sprint but my phone is older. i dont have a phone lock but she does and she also have voice activation with her 6700 and she says she didnt download it.
so what is AKU??? and how can i upgrade it? |
Here is the latest Official Sprint upgrade
http://www.utstar.com/pcd/downloads/...0_WWE_Ship.exe Beyond that, I suggest you take some time to read and learn about the custom roms that are being created. |
AKU = Adaption Kit Upgrade, which is essential like a Windows Update or Service Pack.
The phone lock and voice activation are programs built into the Windows Mobile OS and not a carrier specific program. If you don't have those programs you do indeed have an older version. You can check which version you have by going to Start->Settings->System->About. After the line that says "OS 5....." look at the last digits. That is the AKU number. Considering you don't have the device lock means you have a really (relatively) old version. Check here to see the differences: http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/art...m-aku-en.shtml As far as upgrading your AKU, unfortunately I just recommend you start reading the forums here under the Apache section. FYI, Apache is the general name of all the 6700 phones from the device's manufacturer, HTC. There are a lot of ROMs out there now so it can be kind of confusing, but look for AKU3.5 releases. Considering you have such an old version, this update will make it seem like you have a brand new phone. I think you'll be very surprised the difference your experience will be with this phone once you finally upgrade. Good luck. |
Ok, i see how mine is very different then others and i never knew there were updates. so how does this work?
do i download a patch to a folder and then upload it to the phone? i'm really new to all this and would need step by step instructions. can you recommend a link to do all this? |
