Try placing this file in your startup folder. It's what i'm using and i haven't had any problems yet. (dciNoBar.exe)

Also, you can hide the upper (and i think the lower) bar using vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe by placing it in the start up folder.

You will need to make some registry edits to completely hide it.

hklm\software\vijay555\vjtodaytoggle\

softkeysize change to 1
startsize change to 1

You will also need to "extend" the length of your wallpaper to properly cover the entire today screen.

alls nobars did was remove the softkey bar, i want to remove the system tray with the little icons, i only have one icon there, "wireless sync" and cant find a way to remove it.. you can still see the small icons in both your screen shots..

Re: Working hack to remve system tray..

your right. i misunderstood the "system tray" for the "softkey bar"

but i think, as you suggested, the wireless sync should be removable by the registry.

What is the consumer name of the "wireless sync" if you know, and/or the exe. If we knew the vendor and product, the community could probably research and guess a few settings

Yep, gotta screen shot so we can see what we're wanting to remove for ya? This is kinda like going to the doctor and saying it hurts. With no other details...Is it phmtray? Whose rom do you have installed? We have questions so we can help!

After a little research at xda-developers.com and pdaphonehome.com, my suggestion and results of my research....
...you can't. Uninstall the software and find you another mail program. I use outlook. I set up a pop3 gmail account and have windows live isntalled to access my msn account. You can have 5 accounts setup in windows mobile.

Re: Working hack to remve system tray..

With vjtoggletodayiialpha you can choose what tray do you want to remove. If you want to remove only system tray you will need to make some registry edits:

hklm\software\vijay555\vjtodaytoggle\

softkeysize 26
starsize 26
Systemtray change to 1

you will conserve your soft and star bar and remove only system tray (icons too)

Hope will be helpfull and sorry for my english

Re: Working hack to remve system tray..

so you add the dword systemtray and change to 1 or use the trayvisible dword? i don't have a systemtray dword available and i have trayvisible set to 0

i added an extended wallpaper to my first post with the other files.

Re: Working hack to remve system tray..

This is too cool! Thanks for the apps andason!

Hiding the Start bar is sorta funky and it acts weird. Upon startup it would not be there, but when I launch an app then it would show up and stay there, and if I go back to the today screen the Start bar is back but the items have shifted up as if there was no Start bar (and the Start bar overlaps my today items too).

As for the Soft Key bar, that works beautifully but I am unable to get rid of that one pixel bar. Setting 'SoftKeySize' to '0' doesn't work, it reverts back to '1' when starting up. Any ideas on nulling that out?

I'm wondering the same thing.

What does 'TrayVisible' do? My tray icons are always there regardless..

I'm only running vjtoggletodayiialpha.exe btw.

Again, great find!

The file http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...7&d=1132420396 Traydisplayinstall 196.cab works perfectly in WM6.1 for removal of the nasty intellisync icon in the Tray and any other useless icons displayed there. Tried and tested on Sprint Mogul with no issues yet.

Thanks to ei99070 from XDA for this cab file..... Thread below....

So you want to hide your system tray?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why? Because it useless and it ocupies a line of space that could be used by a today plugin!!!

TrayDisplay is what you need!!! Built with ATL C++, it comes in two files:
HideTray: that makes tour system tray invisible;
DisplayTray: that makes tour system tray visible!!

It makes a shortcut on your \Windows\StartUp folder so that everytime you reset your PPC, it will hide the tray!
When the file is run, it makes it's job and then end's so that it doesn't stay in memory.

This file is not a patch, but an application!

Only works with Windows Mobile 2005!

Hope I'll get some feedback

19/11/2005 (1.0.0.2)
Bug fixed: screen rotation, then execute TrayDisplay would make the height of the plugins to be wrong!

18/11/2005 (1.0.0.1)
First release!
