want indicator light on when in standby

On the samsung i760, WM6.0, is there a way to make the indicator light flash even when in the standby mode? On my 6700, it used to flash even when the screen went to sleep. It's pretty useless to have the indicator light go off when the unit goes dark. Am I doing something wrong?
