Text message sent alert

I want to keep the bubble that pops up saying message sent but I don't want that alert sound. I went threw settings-sounds & notifications and unchecked play sound for messaging. But the sound still plays?
Any reg hack for this? I've done the hack to eliminate the notification but that's just it. I want to keep the notification but I don't want the sound.

Thanks in advanced!

Re: Text message sent alert

what would be nicer is a hack to just show the "message sent" for 2 seconds then disappear.. i find the whole sound and "dismiss" process annoying. i think most would prefer just a simple 2 seconds on-screen notification that's it.. maybe one of us should go work for MS so we can get the perfect WM phone.

Here is a cab that I have. I did not create it and can not for the life of me locate who did at this time. But, whoever did this, they did one fine job at it. :headbang:

Does this totally do away with any notifications? Or just the sound?

Gets rid of the bubble for the Notification sent. Does not do anything to the received msg.

Re: Text message sent alert

let me add that the cab works for a Sprint Touch with WM 6.0. I can not vouch for any other device or OS version. FYI

Here is another thread that contains the cab. It works on the Titan from what I understand.

Will also point you to the rightful owner of the program I think. :D

Well, it's more than likely a registry edit that you will need to do. The link above might go into the area of where this bubble is and allow you to look around to see where the sound on/off is.

Navigate to Settings -> Personal Tab -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications Tab

Select the event Messaging: New text message
Check Play sound and choose this ringer from this link
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=silent+ringer (install in \windows directory. a silent.wav)

And of course check the Display message on screen box.

That what you wanted?

Re: Text message sent alert

figure out which sound it plays, Alarm2? and copy the silent wav to \windows\alarm2.wav

That should do it!

As I know, Alarm2.wav can neither be replaced nor be modified.

Re: Text message sent alert

The regedit for this....

HKEY_Current_User\ControlPanel\Notifications\Defau lt
Wave = "\windows\alarm2.wav"

///Change it to whatever *.wav file you wish!

...will change/silence the text message sent sound if you still want the bubble.

And if your cooking a Rom
\Kitchen_Dir\Sys\Shell is where you'll find alarm2.wav, I replace mine with silent.wav.

NO.. it does not.. but if you don't like it then you can remove it. start/settings/system/remove programs.

P.S so just give it a try...
