Free WIFI tethering for Verizon?
I just bought a Touch Pro 2 from Verizon. I did a tether through bluetooth and my browser brought me to the Verizon wireless broadband page. If I connect to the internet that way, they charge by the kilobyte.
Is there a way to use the data connection from the phone to bypass this so I am not charged? |

Re: Free WIFI tethering for Verizon?
i have a Touch Pro from Alltel originally, now Verizon and i setup mine to connect to my wireless LAN at home through Wi-fi with no additional charges. On the road, I can connect to whoever is available, again with no extra charges.

theres a .cab file that turns your phone into a router. Its Tom_Codon CM WiFi internet sharing. Extremly simple to use.

same issue i had just days ago when i got my tp2..i was like WTF???? my tp1 didn't do that lol,but after a search i found this, just install SR and tether, you will know it works when you connect and it doesn't reroute you to vzw pg.,also check your data useage on vzw.com and you will see it still say $0.00 which is estimated at the end of each day, read about it here

Try using the usb cable that came with the phone instead of bluetooth. Try a different custom rom, or if you're running the stock rom, try a custom rom. |

What is "SR" that you say to install? I installed Mr. X and cab files.

Wirelessly posted (ACS WP7 Guide Mango'd: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0; XBLWP7; ZuneWP7))
Which one did you install? Did you soft reset after installation? Tom Codon does work. |
